I was riding down this hilly street, in the bike lane mind you, and a bus almost swiped me off the damn road. At one point it was about a foot away from me and on the right side were parked cars. I was swerving and panicking. I just envisioned myself getting hit and falling sideways hahaha. That didn't happen though. Luckily, there was an opening in the sidewalk and I zoomed right on. These city bus drivers don't give a shit. Can we also talk about how nice it is outside today? 68 degrees
Hahaha that sounds like it'd be really scary. I hate bus drivers! I'm jealous of your nice weather.. too :toetap05:
Atleast he was familiar enough with his route that he knew there was an opening coming up before going into his "I hate my job" road rage
Yesterday i almost got hit by a car... I envisioned myself slamming my skull on the bonnet, letting it absorb most of the force while my body does a vertical motion and slams on the windshield, continuing to roll vertically for a bit, before sliding down a side of the car. Suddenly time stops, everything is quet, and still, I shit bricks. That's the first time i died that day.
I've been hit a couple of times by cars. Nothing ever too serious. I always get super pissed and fuck up the drivers car. They aren't too happy with me after that.
iv'e been hit twice while riding my bike, once in the palasad parking lot i got pushed into a garden, and once i was going home to my apartment and i was going down the driveway just as a car was backing out of the parking lot... it hurt and there were only bruises and scratches... lucky iv'e never broken a bone!... despite how accident prone i am
It would be so badass to yell at someone for that.I surprisingly didn't flip out at all. I said "What the fuck" to myself in disbelief and kept on riding. Damn mr.green that was intense...I freaked out once in the back seat of my friend's car once because this one car got really close to us, facing my side of the car.So if he hit us I would've been fucked.
There’s nothing like the feel of mountain biking in the city swerving in and out of traffic only inches away from a front bumper and certain death :cheers2: Hotwater
Hahaha my friend got to class and said he saw me on the bus, I'm sure the cars behind us did as well.I was too busy trying to escape.
Hahaha aww mann.. at least you didn't wreck or anything. That woulda been embarrassing plus it woulda hurt haha
Embarrassing a little but I'd be more pissed about my bike and being late for class.haha We ended up getting out 2 hours early though.
I concur, but change the Mtn to a BMX. It's a shorter bike therefore closer calls. Plus you can bunnyhop all over obstacles, dogs, curbs, walls etc...
lolz, i was almost hit by a car who cut my off while i was making a left turn across traffic. and i dunno what her rush was, because she stopped at the light behind ten cars just a second later, i was far past her on my bike by the time the light went green. fucking people and their cars. i was hit by a biker earlier this summer actually. the dude stopped short and iwas right on his tail so i just went right through him, he had to go to the emergency room for some cuts and i was totally fine. its a dangerous world out there for a bike commuter.... watch out for the bike lanes, sometimes they are right in the "door zone" where a car can open its door right into your path. a woman died in cambridge that way like two years ago. she was doored and then landed under a moving truck.
4 years ago on the banks of the charles river in cambridge I almost hit Stephen King while mountain biking near Harvard university He was standing in the middle of the street presumably just hours after attending a red sox game at fenway park and wasn't watching what he was doing - it was bizarre Hotwater
