Smoking resin?

The way I see it I don't want to waste anything, so when my smoking devices get too clogged up I scrape out the resin, if it ends up being rather dry and chunky I smoke it in a pipe.....otherwise if its a nasty glob of black stickyness this:



works quite well.

However some people say the resin does not get you high...I wonder, have they ever smoked it?

 

obviously not because resin is pure THC which gets you higher

Resin is much closer to being pure tar, but ill smoke that shit. It's a strong high.

 

There IS THC present in resin. It is mostly burned oxidized carbon compounds, but quite a bit of THC does get trapped with it as well. Smoking it will undoubtedly get you high, as anyone who has done so can attest.

My usual technique is to hold my by bowlpiece over a lighter to make the resin pliable, scrape out my bowlpiece with a bobby-pin, then using the bobby pin and my fingers to form the resin into little balls (make sure they're bigger than the hole in your bowl, but aside from that the smaller the better. Burning a ball of resin requires a lot of heat and it's gross). Once they cool, these balls are hard and can be dropped into the bowl. Unlike bud they will almost never "cherry" so you always have to draw with the lighter on the bowl. It's nasty as fuck but I do it every couple months when I clean out my piece.

 

I always smoke my resin. When I smoke weed I follow the Rastafari belief of using every part of the plant for consumption, and throwing away any part of it would be a disgrace to its power and spiritual properties. So everything - buds, resin, leaves, and stems all get smoked, seeds get eaten.

But when I'm all out of luck on my hunt for more green, resin does come in handy. Doesn't taste nice like some high grade chronic but it gets the job done.

Whats resin taste like? Dunno why but i always imagined it would taste like a tar/metal kind of...

 

Pretty good description for someone who's never smoked it. Tar/metal is a good way to put it. Has some of that green taste remaining but...mostly hot smoke and...dunno tastes kinda like rocks or dirt too haha

That is exactly what it looks like but its supposed to be a vaporizer, apparently it works better for nasty resin and hash oil rather then plant matter. At least that's been my experience so far.

 

I'm assuming that you just heat the little glass container to vaporize? Pretty much a crack pipe but definitely an effective way of smoking hash oil or resin.

i am shocked that someone would put resin in their vaporizer. i wouldn't want to ruin mine like that.

90% of my resin goes in the garbage. occasionally i'll get desperate and smoke some

 

How does it ruin it exactly? it is possible to clean it and I have not had that problem yet....and to me that is a waste, I mean it gets me high so how could I bring myself to throw it away? but to each their own.

 

i guess it doesn't ruin it because you can clean it. i'd be worried about it leaving a residual taste.

my vaporizer is different than yours, but i would NEVER put resin in it. i would smoke vape "resin" though, that shit is delish

resin is so unhealthy, that's why i throw it away. same reason i have a vaporizer in the first place, because although i like to smoke cannabis, i don't want to MAXIMALLY harm my lungs
