Its true. I entered accidentally some online bank lottery draw. My mom called the bank and the agent of the company and they say that we were 1 of 5 others that one 900,000. This is what exactly the note says: "We are pleased to inform you that you are one of the third winners of lottery draw held on 5th October 2006. Your ticket with serial number 892457285 drew the lucky winning numbers. You are therefore entitled to a payout of U.S $900,000.00 payable to you by bank draft or bank certified check. This amount has been approved for payment in your favor. In line with our payment procedures, you are required to pay a processing Service fee of U.S $3,000. "We have enclosed with this letter, a check of US $4,700.00 to help you pay this fee as well as custom delivery charge. The fee amount($3,000) is payable by MONEYGRAM ti your fee agen Mary Leach in 26 E 2nd street Toronto Canada. You are requested to deposite your check in your bank account and contact your assigned claims agent John Williams on telephone.....(number) on the receipt of this notice for further instructions on how to claim your winning. Please dial the numbers as you see them on the letter" We called the number it told us to and the agent assures us its legit. My family cannot and will not believe this until were 100% sure, but as of now it seems like its 90% legit. This is crazy. And if it all is true..ITS ALL CAUSE OF ME WE WON THAT SHIT!
one of the oldest internet scams, and I love smokindude trying to make us think he actually believes it
It sounds too good to be true, thats why im trying not get my hopes up. But at this point, i have NO reason not to believe it. 900,000 is nothing to banks and companys like this, and apparently the agent sent out 3 other letters and checks just like mine. This is so crazy, really. My family doesnt know how to react.
:spliff: with that kind of bread you can smoke a two pound blunt....call topnotch and get a couple packs of shells! and if you want feel free to invite me over to partake - hell, i'd throw in a few bucks for my share thats fuckin awesome if it works out like it sounds it will!
aaaw shit...didnt even see he said it was online. oh well, its most likely not real. but whatever, if it is, good job sometimes a large sum of money can be more trouble than its worth though, anyway....can cause more problems than it solves.... as for 900,000 not being a big deal to big banks....they have plenty where that came from, but they aren't going out of their way to give it away. honestly i've never heard of a bank lottery before, and if they DID give something away it'd be something like 1000 bucks or something. 900,000 is pretty close to a million in the grand scheme of things, and no one is gonna just give that away for nothing... oh well, its a nice thought sounds fishy though. i'd definitely not get my hopes up!
even though I know there's no way smokindude actually believed this lottery, I love the kid for trying to keep some excitment around these forums anymore. If i was still smoking, I'd smoke a bowl in your honor.
The bank is somewhere in Michigan, my mom dialed 411 and found out it is actually a legit bank. The name of the bank is on the paper which my mom has and now is sleeping, but i know its a real bank.
try callin the bank, not the "agent". c'mon they send you a bunk check, and need you to wire them cash to another country? hten all of a sudden you get 900K. ridiculous. but good luck with it.
you deposit a bogus check for over 3000 dollars, you send them 3000 dollars, the check you were sent, in the meantime, doesnt clear and the promised 900,000 dollars never comes. they make a couple grand, you are SOL...especially if they're out of the country. and how did you enter this? what banks have "lotteries"? what banks simply give away nearly a million dollars for nothing? my bank won't wave a 5 dollar fee....they're in the money MAKING and SAVING business, not the business of holding 5 o'clock free money giveaways.... i'm just curious for more info if you care to share. now that other people raise the issues and i looked and noticed you said it was an online thing, it DOES sound pretty sketchy. just be careful.... if you win money, you owe money in taxes. the bank shouldnt be charging you to get money they are giving you. they can just give it to you. if its a prize and they are literally giving you money for nothing, there should be NO charges from them. anything you have to pay to get in something like this does sound suspicious!
