Skaters in Kansas!

hey guys. im from melbourne australia and am planning a cross country skate trip from LA to NY and was looking at passing through kansas.
just wondering if there is much of a skate scene? if so any cities or towns in particular or cheap places to stay or empy couchs? thanks

 

I've got a friend who is a skater and he probably knows a lot of places you could go.
