After moving into my new house a couple months ago I started to have periodic ant invasions. Usually they would discover an almost empty soda can and then bring the whole family out for a treat (they really like root beer). So after a few more encounters (they are very persistant) I started to freak out when ever I saw them, even though I know they're harmless ants and if I remove the food source they'll go away. Well now every once in a while I'll think I see an ant crawling on my arm, or in my bed, or on the computer screen, and etc... but I don't know if I really saw them or not... o_o;;
Well, I was having the same problem with ants that you were, and I couldn't get rid of them-then all of a sudden, I went to sleep about 5am, and woke a few hours later with my bed covered in ants, and they were all over me-at least a couple of dozen ants on me, and I was being chewed to pieces. I've never seen anything like it. There was a little crack in the wall that they were coming in at right next to my bed, which I promptly sprayed with insecticide. I found one nest real near the foundation of the house and killed it, and as I was trying to do that the little varmints attacked my hand and it was so swollen that I couldn't move it. I was really a mess for a day or so. I got ant traps and other things, and luckily, or miraculously, the ants are now all gone. I learned my lesson-when the ants start getting bad in the house, do something about them before they do something about you!
Thanks for the advice. Oddly they haven't invaded for a long time. I don't know if I could destroy all the outside sources of the ants, since I practically live on a giant ant hill.
you're mean. I was having the same problem. The little bitches would find my cat's food and have a field day. Or an empty soda can. I started seeing them on my computer desk or crawling on me or something too. Even though they weren't there. If you keep everything picked up and don't leave any kind of food source out they won't in, and eventually the paranoia will go away too. Good luck to you. <3 alicia
I dont know what its like where you live but in Florida people keep lizards in the house that eat bugs including roaches, Of course I dont know which one is worse having a roach or an ant crawling on you or having a lizard run across your face at 1 am. Robert
having a roach crawling on me. ugh those things are down right ghastly! i have cats: and they run across my face at 1 am. so i think i can handle a lizard doing so. and the ants, call an exterminator.
