silly emos and sk8ers

i just wanna share my latest conclusion...
i've had an opportunity to get to know emos and sk8ers (rollers etc)
and i've been completely disappointed

they are so vain, stupid and ego-centric!
that's crazy!
well maybe not all of them but the majority-that's for sure...

SOOOOOOOOO.......the conclusion is........HIPPIES ARE THE BEST!!!!

i love you, hippies, i swear i'll never try to even approach those silly things!

Well... I must say I like old emo stuff... I mean... what's called indie-emo... you know.. Sunny Day Real Estate, some albums by Fugazi... but it's funny to look those people who find cool what's not "cool": to be a copycat mainstream product. They say they've got a proper identity, and so on... but... hey! they just copy what's on TV! It's like All Star Converse... yeah.. I wear chuck taylor's sneakers, not for its coolness, but for its comfortability.... However, I don't care how they wear or how they think...

 

Hippies can also be stupid, vain and egocentric... they are dumb enough to label themselves as hippies in the first place, ehh?

I dont really like the label myself because when people think hippie they ushually think a gutter kid who is dirty and has dread locks with dirty clothes and a dirty sleeping bag he is draging through the mud. But Thats not really a hippie its just some one who i dont know is Trying to look like he just walked out of the woodstock movie (not that i saw many people in that with dread locks). I just never know what to say when someone calls me a hippie. So i just smile and think tomyself "at least i do not look like every other person in this bar".

<3 chucks. they are sooo comfortable, but mine have huge ass holes in them and haven't been worn for awhile. but i have a pair of high tops that have my name graffitied all over them.

and it's not fair to label yourself or other people, unless they are the type looking for a label to fit in.
i'd rather just be myself and have fun. and who doesn't enjoy fun?

 

Yeah, I got three pairs of them, and two of them are like yours! The newest ones are pretty clean... so I should do something about it... hahaha!

You're right. Labels are just freakin' us people out... At the end, the truly valid labels are those good and bad. Most of them are discriminatory and scornful... But sadly or not, we need them to describe everything.

 

I would say while lables sometimes make people take you for granted, they arn't all bad. They kinda say who you are a little bit and it makes it easier in conversation.
Well, I guess you could call me hippyish, emoish, skaterish ...ect. instead fo explaining your views on everything. But it sucks when someone says oh you skate and then thinks I probally won't like you. One more thing I skate so I feel a little offended.
I don't think I am like most skaters, but I do skate so... yeah just don't take the lable you might put on people for granted.

 

a lot of my friends are skaters, and they are more "hippy" than most hippies I know......not in a pperance or musical tastes, but in their attitudes.....

I see more of a sense of brotherhood at punk shows than I have at "hippie" shows....

as for myself, I am what I am.....I have friends in many circles......i dont really consider myself a hippy, but i listen to alot of old music and i am almost obsessed with the 60s. But no more than I love to rock out a punk shows or metal shows, or in the same week i might go see chamber music downtown, or go to a club and see a dj.

Its kinda hard to place a person under one label, right? Besides, how one dimensional and boring..........

 

Alot of hippies are elitist pigs. If you aren't a veggie, they look down on you. If you aren't anti-war, they look down on you. If you're a capitalist, they look down on you.

I'm about as hippie as they get, because I fucking hate social labels and refuse to be labeled with anything other than my name.

'Hippies are the best'? You make them sound like a super-human race. People are people.

 

Don't judge them on it. All these subcultures exist so that kids can fit into little groups and feel less shit about their boring little lives. They'll hopefully they'll get over it before they start growing underarm hair.

it amazes me today that people believe in labeling others. who give s aflying fuck if your a skater, a hippie, a hip hopper, a prep, a jock or what have you. grow up and like people for what is on the inside and not whether they wear skater clothes or bling bling. what u should be saying is that you don't like ego-centric, vain or hemmm stupid people which is rather ironic you should say stupid because frankly, this post is stupid.

Yeah, kudos on the Chuck Taylors. I have 3 pairs; my daily drivers which have gaping holes in the sides, a brand new clean pair for weddings and such, and a very old pair that are covered in Pink Floyd grafitti.
