should the UN be held responsbile as a primary agent for the war on terror?

this the topic for my debate class currently and i thought that it could make for a good topic.

hell no..bush went to war without getting un approval at all, so why would the un be held responcible?
the war on terror is misnamed also, its the war to cause terror.

Yeah, because the UN did the initial invading and spread all of those lies concerning weapons of mass distruction.

 

I dont think the UN should be held responsible for the current state of affairs of the war on terror (if there is such a thing) but I do think the UN should assume the responsibility of leading the war on terror because God knows that the American government hasnt done shit to stop terrorism in general.

That always makes me laugh, seeing "The war on terror".

Ummm..a couple of hundred unarmed weapons inspectors was not an invading force, and the UN did not spread lies regarding WMD. UNSCOM declared a 95% confirmed WMD dissarmament. That did not mean 5% was left, they just could not confirm the destruction of said 5%. And they could not find any more.

 

whats funny is that we spent 2 trillion dollars for a war justified by 3,000 people dying (a small number compared to how many iraqi's and coalition troops have died) in the WTC attacks. i knew the plane that hit the pentagon hit the part being renovated for a reason, lol. and why did the planes headed toward the whitehouse crash? its like watching wrestling on TV.

the war on terror? what terror. i hate the word terror. and what terror are we talking about, look past the orange alert level and see that we havent been attacked since 9/11. if the war on terror was real we'd be in the midst of a civil war

 

Your bloody lucky mate... Just because you have not been attacked, could be because 'attacks' have been thwarted.. moved to softer targets around the world .. Plus OBL and his 'friends' have there own little operations going on within a country they care bugger all about [well the people within that country anyway]... Your 'war on terror' is being fought in many other places.

I can scarcely bring myself to say the words 'war on terror'.
I am terrified of those who coined the term, manipulate the media and the public, and attack themselves in order to justify a war, etc etc.
I am f*ing scared to death. Poor Iraquis, poor soldiers, poor Americans.
The UN just proved their total impotence in face of a fascist government hell bent on world domination, and giving the final death blow to true democracy.
