I know LSD alter's your mindset and perceptions on life, but I'm not sure if I want to do that because I like my view on life and values at the moment because i'm a very positive person as I smoke a lot of weed.
You'll be fine. A view on life is something to be developed and expanded upon as you grow, not something to shelter from potential experiences.
If your positivity is based on smoking a lot of weed then I think you would benefit from LSD. Basically.
'Back in the day' I fell into it briefly, though settled for the weed - if I'd deliberated over it maybe it would have been a different story Ah well - whenever I am in doubt, I go with my heart
Yeah dude, if you are interested in it try it. You'll be surprised to see that your views on life will be changed, but for the better. You may change dramatically from what you do believe, but you may find earlier experiences in life match up with later parts in your life, which makes your whole life feel more fulfilling. I'd say go for it dude. Don't worry about that, you open up your awareness, not close it. So living in ignorance may be bliss, but living with eyes open will forever teach you. You already seem like a laid back person, so I bet what you will find- will be fulfilling!
I say go for it. If you truly have a positive outlook on life I can't see how LSD wouldn't be a beneficial with some preparation. Although you haven't told us much you sound ready.
I have just recently begun my psychedelic career. Well, more recently than a lot of people. I am a senior in high school, 18 and I started shrooms just over a year ago and acid a bit less than a year. I am not going to claim that acid has done any of the changes in my life, but it sure didn't hurt. Before I was aimless, jobless and just didn't care. I didn't smoke weed and still don't, so that wasn't contributing to my complacency and apathy at all like it may for others. So after I tripped a bit, I realized how close I was to being thrust into the real world. I decided to really try to get a job, and to try in school. I also made an actual decision as to what I want to do as a career. I set goals and I work to achieve them now. Perhaps not as a result of acid, but I definitely realized a few things on acid. I also realized how in love I am with a girl who is a close friend I never really thought of in that way. I'd say go ahead and do LSD. If it turns out you don't LIKE it, no harm is really done. At least you learn what you are missing and you learn what you don't like. I think that is a good switch in world view. Remember, either it's just a drug to you or it's something special to you. You kind of decide yourself mid trip.
Wow, thanks for all the great advice, guys! You've all been so helpful. Just for the people who want to know about me, I'm a 17 year old male from Australia that's studying psychology at uni next year. I've been smoking weed for a year and it has ultimately made me a better person and changed my life for the greater good; I've used salvia a few times, but didn't like the short length of the trip, but it was still pretty crazy. I know I can't say i'm ready for lucy, seeming as I have no experience with it, but I can say I'm as ready as I'll ever be. I've been keen for 'cid for months and have bought bunk shit twice , but finally found a reliable source , so i'll let you know how it goes.
dude Mr writer's the genius we all feel -- escaped by words. OP: You sound great! and with cid, It requires some sort of calm/patience as you slowly loose your mind, until it looses you and you go after chasing. Free your mind can be taken very literally sometimes.. Peace Have fun when you try it, ya?
The first few trips can be magic and life-altering. That's why you should wait until your early twenties to do it, when you are more mature and your brain is pretty much fully developed and you're starting to question yourself and the world around you. You want to have your first trips when you are near the peak of your mental powers and you will get much more out of it. No offense but I didn't know shit at 17 and am SOOO glad i waited (I was 22) I had the trip(s) that people dream of where I discovered my true self, realized how beautiful I was, and just loved myself, life and the ever-unraveling continual journey of self-discovery from that point on. You won't get another chance to have one of those deeply life changing trips. The first ones are the key.
I'd definitely say no until your mind is more mature and developed.. I'm 20 years old and am still not ready for any kind of psychedelic.. you could have a bad trip and have your life altered for the rest of your life. I say no, listen to MattyDigs and don't do it. He's got a valid point other than 'no mannn do it it's so cool and fun', because everything that can be cool and fun can also be dangerous and disasterous..
The fact that you're afraid of changing your perspectives and values says to me that you're not ready to do it. LSD is a powerful experience, and it WILL change the way you think. And the fact that you're so young should be a deterrent as well. You'll have enough changes in perspective throughout the next few years. Wait a bit, and then try it when you're more centered within yourself.
