I have a concern, and my concern is with ripping. My hairs going great and things are locking up nicely. I have sections trying to dread into other sections -- basically, there will be a baby dread from another section of my head dreading into another dread in a different location. I've been ripping these little dreadlets from the bigger ones just so my hair stays sectioned relatively well and I don't have a "spiderweb" or so of locks on my head. Should I keep doing this or just let them be? The back is just a huge mess, cluster fuck of tangle. I just kind of wrap my hand around (whats feels to be like) the lock and rip the surrounding locks/hair the opposite direction, till it seems like it's it's "own" lock now. This shit is so hard to describe. Maybe someone will understand what I'm saying. lol
just keep ripping them into the size you want. i have to rip mine every other day or i have one section that is trying to be one huge dread. the ones that starting locking first dont seem to need any ripping except for the following day after i wash them. when are you going to upload some more pics? really wanting to see the progress
I ripped every day for almost a year. I have stopped ripping for about a month now because my locks were getting progressively thinner. It's really just about the size you want. I am tired of my thin locks, and want some fatter one...plus with loads of ripping the loose hair is getting too long and is blowing in my face which I hate and was one of the original reasons I let my hair dread. So now, I don't rip hardly at all anymore. After a month of no ripping, it's like I have rug on my scalp. No big thing, it all dreads in time, some just bigger than others.
