What you shouldn't do, is ask strangers on the internet to make such a life-altering decision for you.

if you drop, you wont have the change to drop out anymore. If you dont, you'll always have the chance.

So wait and see while you have the chance.

ps: i love the valkyries when they ride :p

    Well, that was advice.

You haven't given any information about your situation, so how can anyone have an opinion?

its not my work that bothers me, i love the work i love music, but music can be quite a snobbish subject. we study all different kinds of styles and genres and most people have a specialist area. the people who are on my course are constantly competing to see who is the best and i do not think that this is music is about. i love music. thats why i am studying, i would never use against my peers and fellow musicians. it is just a little disheartening to see people treat music in teh way that some of them do. similarly i do not believe one type of music is more valuable than another. there is something to be learned from everything. on a more general level, i am at university to learn about what i love, to many students university is a lifestyle and the learning, knowledge side of it isn't taken seriously enough. i am just a little disaffected right now it will pass.
    thanks for all your advice.

hey - don't let other peoples attitudes get to you.. imagine how disappointed you'd be in years to come if you dropped out because of something like that...

If you find that you really can't settle in where you are then you should maybe try looking into transferring your degree to another uni - they are not all the same!
