only if your name just feels realllly wrong to you, otherwise, keep this name i think it's really nice
I think that is a pretty name, but it is your choice. If you don't like the name, don't think it fits yuor personality, are ready for a change, or whatever, then go for it! You can always change it back, or make that your middle name or something. I suggest trying to find soemthing that you think matches your personality. I chose for yself the name "Ryvre" because it sums up my basic outlook on life. Sometimes we are shallow, sometimes deep, sometimes faster moving than others, it takes many twists and turns and receives its lifeforce (water) from things outside of itself (creeks, smaller rivers, etc...), sometimes times are great, but sometimes they are dry too. But through all of it it still moves forward in the same direction, pushing onward until it ends in the ocean. I suggest if you want to change your name, pick one that means a lot to you. Forget what everyone else thinks. If you think the name "Rainbow Peace Love Happiness Dharma Smith" feels right for you, then go for it! ~Peace!~
I'm with the others, I love your name but if you don't change it! But change it to something that feels "You", but will also feel you in twenty years time, unless you want to change regularly of course (Only say that because not so long ago, I was convinced I wanted to change my name to Denim, don't ask why cos I'm not sure, but if I had, it would have definitely annoyed me by now!)
OK onomast mode here ... It's nice, rather offbeat but not difficult to say/spell. Has appealing literary (Edgar Allan Poe) and spiritual associations. Downside is it's getting a bit cliche as a 'goth name'. Totally agree When I was about 16-ish I wanted to be called Flower, coupled with some outrageous middle name that I can't recall. Obviously it's really rather embarassing with hindsight. Cute for the skunk in Bambi, but doesn't quite work for a college graduate. That and I just don't 'look like' a Flower. Am in the process of changing my given name (first and middle). Never really liked it [very common, dated, major teasing potential] and it doesn't fit who I am. Have grown a lot in recent years, so want to express that. It has taken a lot of searching. To find something that is actually who I am, rather than fitting with some imposed image. My first name [Sage] was a fairly instinctive choice ages ago but still fits and is evolving. Couldn't imagine anything else. My middle name I've agonised over for years. Being a libran name-nerd and all. Think I've pretty much settled on it, but then I thought that last time (which I'm still using, just as a 'craft name' and possibly second middle name). Have chosen Elise because that has quite a lot of meaning to me. Also like the contrast of it being feminine and fairly normal compared to Sage. Also think it sounds quite professional, which will be appropriate in future. It's reasonably close to my given name, so should make the transition easier. Am keeping my surname; because that is a link to my past and family. Am proud of that and don't want to loose it. Also it's just a great name, unusual but not too complicated [well in theory]. So yes I really do think probably way too much over these things, but we all need our hobbies Good luck in your search.
when i was really little i lived across the street from the radio station. one day i walked over and asked the DJ to announce that my name from that day forward would no longer be katie crowley. my new name was something along the lines of "diamond rose sparkle rainbow jasmine". i forgot it the next day. a few years ago, a few people started calling me kitty, but i got sick of it and didn't know people were talking to me when they'd call me by it. my old english teacher used to call me stargirl, from the book. my mom does sometimes. trix has been my "other" name since i was about 9, but only a few people have called me it. it would be so cool if people called me prismatism in real life, but it's kind of long. maybe it should be my middle name . anyway, i think you should change your name if you want to. if you can find a name that suits you better than the one you have. there are some kids here called "stretch", "rat", and "breezy".
Thanks for the encouragement! Maybe not Raven. That has become a more commonly used name. By the way i love ur sig. It is really cool!:sunglasse
