    Hello,
So I am 24. I have been noticing that when I don't masturbate or ejaculate awesome things happen. usually 24 hours is a cleansing time and when I stop masturbating/ ejac for days up to 4 days great things happen, I know stupid and incorrect but just keep reading...

When I meditate after ejac I can't feel much of anything but a vacuum feeling in my genital/ pelvic area. A burning sensation, be it nice and wanting more pleasuring.
When I do yoga after mast./ejac. I have almost no kundalini energy to open my chakras
When I go for a run and do yoga I have all sorts of kundalini to ascend into my chakras.
When its been multiple days of no sexual activity I can feel a lovely feeling in my pelvis and it feels like it starts to go up my spine when I tighten my first 3 bandas, actually it feels orgasmic. I notice i'm less tired as well and more prone to help others. My back doesn't hurt, my adrenaline and hormones seem in place. I am also less shy around attractive women. When I eat it feels like i'm orgasming everywhere! bolts of orgasmic energy shoot up my spine saying Yuuummmm.

What are your experiences being conscious of your sexual energies?????

I want to be celibate more than 7 days, its my max, its just sooo hard to do for me I wish something could help me.

It's interesting. I didn't know celibacy could cause that.

Personnaly I find meditation often (not always) sexually arousing, as my senses are open and my body is relaxed. Of course the act of having sex in a meditative way is an immense experience, both emotionally and physically.

However I think I have read somewhere that the long absence of ejaculation, for men, can cause prostate problems, in the long run. But I'm not an expert at all so I suggest you verify yourself.

this subject is covered, but not as much as many others related to spirituality and chi energy. i agree with you and have had exactly the same experience. i also had more power to operate in my dreams the longer i went. the hard part is to not fill the gap by indulging in something else, like drugs, food, or anger. it may also be difficult not to "tease" yourself by looking at porno or fantasizing. these things use energy as well.

I had exactly the same experience as you had. But its nothing new. It's been known for 4000 years that Semen is the cream of a man's body. If you lost your Semen too much. Your Chi will be gone too. You will have a poor constitution. Without enough energy, you can't concentrate on anything. Celibate for 7 days is a good idea. But in Taosim meditation, its 100 days' celibate just for the basic training. In Zen Buddhism, there is a figure of speech for those who has too much sex and trying to do meditation at the same time, it says "cooking sand to meal", meaning its never gonna work out. So I am trying to celibate too. you are not alone. :)

    sorry for my bad english

I highly suggest you all take a look at what modern science is saying on sexual abstinence.

I find I get more male attention when I have high sexual energy, it's almost like some men can pick up on it.

I think i'm starting to understand the "cooking sand to meal" saying, I know that when I abstain my meditations are WAY more vivid, pleasing and inspiring, I think that when your holding back for short amounts of time anyway, your imagination sparks and fires easier than when you lose your "cream".

They said that Ghandi would sleep between two virgins to spark and fire his will and imagination.

    cayce excerpts
"They did not consider these urges, or the resultant sexuality, as dirty, evil or defiling. Ancient Essenes did, however, teach that sexual urges, like all natural urges, should be controlled and allowed to manifest only in an appropriate, responsible and natural manner. As stated in this reading, ancient Essenes taught that sexuality should never be engaged in for selfish or emotional (i.e. romantic) reasons, but only for more noble purposes."

"For it is as from the beginning of puberty the essence of the Creative Forces or Energies within the body of the individual. And if such forces are turned to those channels for the aggrandizement of selfish motives, or for the satisfying of that within the urge for the gratification of EMOTIONS, they become destructive; not only in the manner of the offspring our also in the very PHYSICAL BODY of the offspring, as well as in the energies of the bodies so producing same."

"Do not begin after there has been already begun the practice of the conditions that make for destructive forces, or for the issue of the body to become as a burning within the very elements of the body itself - and to find expression in the gratifying of the emotions of the body! For, to be sure, relationships in the sex are the exercising of the highest emotions in which a physical body may indulge. And ONLY in man is there found that such are used as that of DESTRUCTION to the body-offspring!"

just some excerpts interesting and intense...

So... you would not have sex with your girlfriend because you love her? «Sorry, my love, I have more noble purposes...»

I would like to hear more about those «noble purposes», because I really do not understand what you're saying.

    1) What do you mean by «noble purpose»?

    2) What do you mean by «selfish»?

    3) What's the problem with emotions and romances?

    4) Who's to determine what's appropriate and how?

    i think he meant-

    1) Sharing and direction of chi (there are other labels) energy.

    2) For indulgence: (only) physical pleasure, control or manipulation, ego-fulfillment.

    3) You'd have to ask the essenes, but I think they may have felt that they get in the way of spiritual realization and growth.

    4) You, and that's also up to you.

Just my take on it, since he hasn't answered yet and I feel like typing. :)

I think I understand your answer, yyyesiam.

Please correct me if I am wrong, but as I understand it, this whole philosophy is against most forms of pleasure, especially forms of pleasures that are very accessible and very instinctive (sex, food, etc.).

Thing is I do not see any contradiction between psychological maturity and pleasure, on the contrary.

I think being aware in meditation is the only thing that matters, everything else will just flow in a natural way... pleasure and self-indulgence is not a problem. Not listening to your body is a problem. Alot of people are addicted to some forms of pleasure... and alot of people fear pleasure and deprive themselves of something that's very natural, not dangerous when used in moderation... and also has a tremendous meditative potential.

People that are genuinely generous with themselves tend to be genuinely generous with others. Thus spreading positive psychological energy.

this is a very loaded topic. lots to say about it.

couple things that spring to mind from my limited knowledge of perspectives on the matter:

some believe that indulgence in pleasure constitutes a release of life force, or chi. they believe that by reducing their indulgences, they close or limit flow through, these outlets.

this process is said to increase energy flow in the body, as well as cause a pressure within, represented in many ways, such as an inner fire, a deep hunger, a feeling of emptiness, etc.

some believe that, after long enough, the natural energy flow within the body will be restored and the "hunger" will subside, and be replaced with a constant feeling of well-being and calm understanding.

the singer of Tool, Maynard (sp?), described it as a wound so large that we keep trying to put stuff inside of it to fill it up, but if we would just leave it alone, it would heal and close up.

so you see, this idea is not based on the denial of pleasure, but actually the denial of energy release, in an attempt to maintain a more sustainable and enlightening version of what we experience as pleasure.

as far as meditation and generosity, i suppose the way this idea would relate to that is that it gives you more energy to give to others and more peace of mind, as well as willpower, so that one might meditate more deeply.

i am inexperienced, and possess mostly mimicked information to offer on the subject. however, within my limited sphere of experience on the matter, i have only found evidence that supports these ideas. this could of course be because i particularly enjoy the thought of life working this way, so take it all with a grain of salt.

    forgot to mention:

in my experience, denial of indulgence actually increases pleasure by making the body and mind more sensitive to input.

when i was very young, my dad told me that monks eat food that, to us, would be completely bland, but to them is full of flavor and absolutely delicious, because the tongue has been undisturbed by intense flavors for years.

    one more thing :)

you can have amazing sex, as well as the experience of orgasm, without ejaculating.

the information on this matter is highly accessible.

Wow thanks everyone for all the info and opinions!

Edgar Cayce actually practiced/had sex with his wife but never/so he say's allowed himself to release his chi. When I don't allow myself to release even for 2 days now when I get off work and meditate while I drive it's almost hard to drive, it feels like ectasy going up my spine. Am I becoming a women, where just sitting on my chi makes me orgasm? I think I orgasmed yesterday in the car but it was like a spinal orgasm anyone experienced that? The energy starts at my second chakra and then I get this feeling like the sexual energy goes up my spine and out the top of my head, then I feel relaxed like I just came, but I can make it happen for minutes at a time.... I dunno

I think going against nature when you think it is ok and won't harm is one of the best things you can do to find your spirit! I feel like I know myself better because of mild/slowing down of my releases. It has helped me wake up earlier, etc.

I think Yyyesiam brings up some interesting points about the "hunger" within us all. Is it true that the more you eat the more hungry you become?
I remember when I first started to meditate I loved it so much I think I was literally hungry for it and am now realizing it. Now I just let it happen.

    Indulgence = release of kundalini
so true yet sooo exciting to the body! I know that when I don't eat food tastes sooo good it makes my body go wild , I wonder if obstaining from kundalini/chi release and then doing something to release it once really in need of something such as eating would release more than if you just had regular meals????

"a more sustained energy release" - yyyesiam

Yah I know what you mean! When I take ritalin on work days it raises my kundalini so much and when I meditate while taking it I can feel the chi escaping and burning. I get really tired after the days over, same feelings with ejaculation and smoking reefer.

#For some reason when I exercise or work hard it seems like a different chi/kundalini release, more sustainable....?

    i don't wanna knit-pick, but that isn't a proper quote of me. :)

the idea (to me, anyway) is that when addiction to indulgence subsides, the pleasure center can be activated more efficiently, without losing as much in the process.

I understand the logic behind everything you explained. It makes sense, and I don't wish to bring it down. I find it unnessary to my meditative/emotionnal process, as my view is just to accept everything as it comes and feel it and enjoy it and integrate to my personnality. I don't need to be chaste or to refrain from indulgence, IF I listen closely to my body and that's what I feel. My body is my only meditation teacher.

I just feel it necessary that there should be another point of view, because the meditative world is kinda dominated by a centuries-old Monastic Asian viewpoint. It is fine, but it doesn't fit with everybody's personnality. Alot of people could benefit from a more ''natural''/''scientific''/''modern'' approach to meditation, with no cultural implications. Anyways that's just my humble opinion.

    Peace

    i agree

it seems to me that different people need different input at different times, and i love sharing information with those asking for it (if only i had the willpower to act on the info i have gathered).

nothing wrong with the middle way, my friend. :)
