does anybody know if it's possible to send text messages via the internet? I've got a long ass message to type and I don't wanna do it on a fucking keypad. I remember my dads old cell phone used to have that option, but I can't find anything similar by searching?

i've emailed davetext messages. get them to email you on their phone which costs a buck or two, save their phone address, then email to them. i usually just call someone when i have a lot to say, though.

i think you can send to some phones thru yahoo msnger

The latest version of Yahoo! Messenger allows you to send text messages to your friends' mobile phones and receive their responses right from your computer. All you need is your friends' mobile phone numbers.

You can send text messages to friends who have service with any of the following wireless carriers:

    • USA: AT&T, Cingular, Verizon Wireless and T-Mobile

You want the long version or the short version?

Edit: It boils down to the fact that I'm not trying to have a conversation right now. Just want to say my piece and leave the ball in their court.

God I'm slow. I solved my problem. Sent her a text, telling her to check her e-mail that way I knew she'd get the message.

*snicker* i didn't even think of that. was perhaps assuming she didn't have email. WHO doesn't have email? my mother has email, and she doesn't even know how to turn on a computer.

for future reference you can send them from aim, or sign onto the persons carriers sight and send it, if you do it that way you get to pick the number it says sent it, me and a friend once sent this guy we know one claiming to be madly in love with him from his friends moms number.
