Now, before you all run me off the board for even mentioning a dude that was of AI just let me say he has come along waaaay babee. After being forced to put out some popified version of himself in order to fullfill his obligations to RCA's money-machine goon Clive Davis, he has finally broken free. Wanting to get back to his southern rock roots, and knowing that Clive would never allow that, they parted ways. It's not known if he was dumped, if it was by mutual agreement or if Bo simply said shove it Clive and walked. But whatever happened, it was a good thing in my opinion. He decided to partner with his management company Strategic Artists Management and start his own Indie label. Sugar Money/StratArt. His album See The Light is the result. Now if you like that old time rock'n roll, that southern feel, with a bit of swampy blues thrown in you will like this album. Bo has done something unique here. He has created an album that transcends genres. If you are sick of music that all sounds the same, then this will be refreshing to you. In my opinion there is not one bad song on it. Some are more preferred...my favorite being the title song See the Light, but I also love Witness, I'm Gone, Ain't Got Money, as well as This Train and I Ain't Gonna Die. Also Whisky, Women and Time is in a league of it's own. I mean with a title like that...LOL! It's a hard thing to do to break away from the status quo and try something different. Seems that going the Indie route these days is the only way one can do this. Sad thing is, the Indie route is an uphill struggle. Especially in this day when turning out pop shit that all has the same beat, repetitive lyrics, with so much voice dubbing to cover lack of talent, is the only thing that gets airplay. Course the ole "payola" plays a factor in that as well. Something that most Indie artist don't have alot of. So I give kudos to Bo for trying to break away from this trend, and take that "...road less traveled..." Give it a fair shake and listen to it BEFORE you judge it. He has that hippie spirit in him, and he has set it free with See The Light.
