Scarification... Branding... Corsetry?

Whre are all the extreme mods at? Does anyone have anything diffreent or take part in things like suspension? Also what about plastic surgery its a body mod...

I personally am into Branding and ink rubbing i have a star rubbed on my ankle... and i have attempted suspension once but it didnt work out too well...

 

I would love to have a go at a suspension, only around here for it to be done professionally it would cost around $250 and I'm not about to hand out that kind of cash....cash I don't have. I would love to try something like this on my own(with some friends of course) only it's a rather difficult and dangerous thing to do in your own back yard....

I have a music note carved into my wrist and and soon I will be getting a star branding probably on the other wrist, of course I plan to have tons more body mods but it all comes in time.

I suppose plastic surgery could be looked at as a body mod seeing how you are changing and altering your body, only this is done in vain. Plus when people go through with body mods such as suspension it's more for the procedure and the mind set/spiritual awarness that is might bring them...which I'm sure is not the reason with plastic surgery.

 

Cool cool i mamaged to befriend a tatoo artist who was into suspension so he helped me out in my area most people do not even know what it is... so yep...

Not all body mods are done with the intentions of spiritiual or otherwise opening minds... often people have peircings done for vain reasons for example geting a lip ring becasue it looks cool or geting your tongue peirced becaseu its neat.. i myself have not done my mods for this reason but most people do especially people who get inked and choose flash off the wall... if it dosenot have a meaning for you then is it not in vain....

 

please excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is a suspension?

 

suspension is basically hanging from meat hooks... they peirce you with a very large gauge needle usually they put large captive bead rings and you hang...

i have never been into branding or anything. I love watching suspension but dont know if I wold do it or not. I thought tonuge splitting looked pretty cool but painful as shit, specially if it doesnt heal right and you have to get it split again..............

I think Suspension is cool.. But I would never be able to do it myself.... My boyfriend really wants to do badly....

I always though corsetting was a cool and creepy modification... From what i read the only damage is that you get really weak stomach muscles from it... I dont know how true that is... But it is beautiful in a weird way

 

I never thought weak stomach muscles was that serious a problem but I have to say that since I have been strengthening mine after not being able to move a lot in pregnancy I have noticed how as my stomach muscles get stronger my back gets better..I also have started to notice that a lot of the people whom I hear talking about having back problems have weak stomach muscles...

the corsetry stuff I have ever seen looks amazing but I would't do it....the branding...maybe, if I could be guaranteed that the person doing it wouldn't fuck it up and burn too deep...suspension, love to see it but not for me...tongue splitting, not for me but if you want to I am not gonna stop you...

I have a friend who has his tongue split. It looks cool, but really really creepy as well. I like normal piercings and tattoos, and that's as far as I'd go when it comes to body modification. Suspension and stuff like that just seem too weird to me.

 

I've never encountered a suspension that actually inserts jewelry....

Ususally they just use the large hooks to hang you with.

I wish I could do okeepa. Damn my tits. I would love to do okeepa suspension. Just to try it.

But yeah,I highly doubt they actually put large captives in your back/whatever you hang from. Thats not stable enough.

 

they are not exactly captives...more of a solid... they do this becasue it is more steral then the hooks that are used... often they are used for lotus poose suspension... often the loops are not used... it is up to the person being suspended...

 

Okay, I see it, but it's still hard for me to believe that the body can be suspended merely by hooks through the skin! How on earth does it not tear right through?! And even if it doesn't tear, isn't it really really painful?! I know that some people are into pain -- I myself like a bit of it -- but that much?!

And what's this "corsetting"?

I don't quite get this suspension thing. People go into a tattoo/mod parlor, get hooks put through the skin on their backs, get hung up for a while (how long?), and then they take the hooks out, bandage the holes up (I presume) and they go home?

I ask, because I don't see pics on that link of anyone with something permanent being left in to go home with.

So what's this all about? I would have thought that you'd be going in to get some hardware installed that would enable you to do this more. It seems, though, that if you went back say a week or a month later, they'd only have to re-pierce you and do it all over again. That doesn't make much sense to me.

I do admit to a certain amount of curiousity as to how well I would handle the pain of something like this. I think of myself as having a decent-to-above-average tolerance to pain. I sure wouldn't want to have to think that these little tattooed girlies can handle more shit than I can.

Then again, I skydive. Most people couldn't handle that too well without barfing. I like being suspended -- suspended by the lines of my skydive rig!!

corsetting is when you keep a corset on for about 23 hours a day.. only taking it off to eat... to make your stomach shrink (like a woman in a corset except usually much smaller) So you have that kinda animated chick w/ a larger chest and hips and 16 inch waist..

 

holy shit... that looks painful. But kinda cool at the same time.:H

 

If you find a picture or something of someone being suspended by hoops on hooks let me see..cuz Ive never seen anything of that sort....Im intrigued now

Hon, thanks for explaining, but I gotta say, that looks GROSS. It's DISFIGURED. Looks like you could tear their top from their bottom! I have to say, I definitely do not like that.
