I learned this lesson the hard way, the only scales you'll find for cheap are cheap scales. It was supposed to be .001g (as marketed) but seems it won't register anything less than 5mg. Now this could be the scale trying to auto calibrate. Such that if it detects less than 5mg then there is nothing on the scale thus it should be zero. So to mitigate risks as much as possible. I'll use the 5g reference weight they sent, and measure 100mg (+-5mg) for liquid measurement so the scale should read 5.100g. I'm targeting a 8-10mg test dose. So I should be able to get within 1mg (+-.5mg).

    Doing an allergy test now.

Any recommendations for good scales? I'm in need of one. BTW, thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, don't buy a JPrecision, and beware of gemological scales. They often say they are acurate within .001g, but they are suspect at best. I dropped $80 and got exactly what I paid for. Though it's digital display shows .001 it seems to only be accurate within |.005| (+- ~.0025).

I don't specifically know any good scales myself, but what kind of price range are you looking in? You could probably get something decent for $250-$350. But, I haven't shopped any since I got burnt.

But if you are price concious, you can always get a cheap less accurate scale, then use liquid measurement to be more precise. To learn more about this, you can read more here: http://www.erowid.org/psychoactives/dose/dose_info1.shtml

It should be noted that even with this technique, a fairly accurate scale (.01g) at least should be used, because you *will* still need to be certain as possible of the starting mass (weight). Many have commented on this fact, but liquid measurement only serves as a way of increasing accuracy.

Liquid measurement is not helpful for tryptamines (altho it's a savior for the phens). If you're going tryptward it's best to have a good milligram scale.
