saz anyone?

my boyfriend got a saz,and wants to learn it.
does anybody play it?

I belive some of the chords for the saz are the same on a mandolin.

If the bf gets tired of it I'll buy it

 

but a mandoline has 4 strings and a saz has 3,how do you do it than?
