You know, i have this hunch that this post is gonna be more fun than working out triple integrals in spherical co-ordinates or watching the Star Trek Marathon on Sci-Fi channel for 6 hours every tuesday. :H
Didn't know that I found this really cool site explaining Star Trek Ship Registry Abbreviations NX: Experimental starship, Starfleet (example: USS Defiant NX-74205) NCC: Commissioned starship, Starfleet (example: USS Enterprise NCC-1701-E) NCV: Commissioned timeship, Starfleet (example: USS Relativity NCV-474439-G) NDT: Multipurpose transport, Starfleet (example: USS Milan NDT-50863) NFT: Personnel transport, Federation (example: SS Lakul NFT-7793) NGL: Freighter, Federation (example: SS Odin NGL-12535) NSP: Science vessel, Federation (example: SS T'Pau NSP-17938) NAR: Research vessel, Federation (example: SS Vico NAR-18834)
Well i have always liked Star Treks religous motifs within the 'alien' races myself http://www.ex-astris-scientia.org/inconsistencies/religion.htm http://members.aol.com/heraklit1/startrek.htm This was shown within Babylon 5 as well, but to a lesser degree.
In my experience, I have found that the price of the carpeting is directly proportionate to whether or not the buttered side of bread falls face down.
Britney spears is the only woman whose bust sizes, when plotted against time, conform to a sinusoidial regression equation with a high coefficient of corelation.
yep i also like star trek because it more than just a show, it an optimistc vision for future... here are some excerpts from my paper on star trek that I wrote for my english class ... ...
Would a Dyson's sphere be phisically possible to create, and if so, would it be biologically possible to maintain life?
you would have to be a type 2 civilization in order to even begin to attempt that. resource-wise, we would be fucked because we lack the knowledge, technology, and the recources to achieve such things. you need the rescources of several planets combined. plus you need a dying star, which in our case isnt happening. not possible for us, but for extra terrestrials, maybe. the universe is over 14 billion years old(tht we know of). the universe also has vast amounts of galaxies for life to triumph. id have to say, i bet there are some dyson spheres out there. there are prolly a few in our own galaxy, all i can say is i can wait for the day travel to another star is attempted. i will be reincarnated into that motherfucking starships' captain.
