Hey, who remember the Toronto Rocks concert? Did any of you people go.. I would love to here stories! It was such a kick ass day, full of wonderfull experiences! I am wearing a t-shirt that i got now actually, and i love thinking back fondly on the day. it was a good one allright.
Best day of my life...and I just found the ticket stub yesterday in my old copy of Wuthering Heights, I got so excited and sat back replaying it in my head...looking on the Stones with my own eyes...wow-life's grand...I oviously don't need to tell you my stories though- since we went together and well...have the same story all in all...
sars stock was great. first time i saw boobies at a live festival with me own eyes. i still have the ticket stub, and the q107 buttons edit- omg u use femalien too?! i thought i was the only one, then i saw we all shine on use it...maybe it's an ontario thing
Didn't this concert end up losing money and the people who were supposed to "benefit" from it had to be compensated by other means? Of course the musicians and promoters all got wads of cash, but those nurses who were in the front line of the battle against SARS have what?--a few thousand dollars perhaps? Well, at least everyone had a good time and has long forgotten what a potential disaster SARS was and could well be again.
I heard that, but still the point was to bring tourism back to Toronto, make people feel it's safe to come to the city again...and it did do that. The way I see it was Sars was a sickness made more scary by the media then it really was in reality, so the only way to cure something like that was to have a big media event like sarsstock...It brought people back together, and just totally ROCKED!
definitely. thousands of people die in toronto every year because of the smog, yet the media freaks over some weirdy little virus that takes out a handful of people. i'm glad you guys got an amazing concert out of it though.
to the poster of this thread awsome name lol got to keep the lunars on the path i own darkside of the moon pink floyd is my favourite band
Actually, I have to disagree that the media overblew SARS--it was extremely serious, and would have been quite serious had it not been contained. You use smog as an example of how unserious it was, well everyone in Toronto is exposed to smog; very few were exposed to SARS, yet a significant number of them died.
Well i am glad SARS is gone now, cause the time it was here wasnt very good. And toronto scored a fucking kick ass concert
