i have a very large taste in music and i like everything from phil ochs to dr dre but last week i got some cd's from a friend by sage francis. they are all very good and he has a wide variety of beats and has some dam fine rhymes. anybody else ever listen to him? if not i strongly recommend him
did you get one of his solo cds? and which one? he's in a group called Non-Prophets and as much as I like Sage's solo cds, I like Non-Prophets a lot more. its one of my favorite rap albums. Lie Detector Test is one of my all time favorite songs. But yeah, check out Non-Prophets. you'd probably love them
i love sage. hes awesome live. the latest show ive been to was in november. hes a lot of fun. def check out aesop rock
Haven't really listened to him or seen what he's been doing for a few years but I have the Sick of Waiting Tables, Personal Journals and the Makeshift Patriot EP- all good records. Also the Non-Prophets - Drop Bass 12" (which is worth quite a bit now!). The AOI stuff was quite good as well. I really used to like all the Anticon stuff but again, haven't listened to it for a few years... Some school friends of mine- Mummy Fortuna's Theatre Company- were on the first Lex Records compilation (Lexoleum One) with Sage and though they aren't making stuff together anymore they put out some really good abstract hip hop about 5 years ago so check 'em out if that floats your boat...
i got a healthy distrust, personal journal, human the death dance and still sickly business, all of them very good. and i've heard of the non-prophets but i havent listened to them yet. ill deffinitly check them out though.
