what is a sad/depressing for you these days? for me it's Janis Joplin - "Kozmic Blues", it's depressing and very emotional, it really gets below the surface.
They Might Be Giants ~ "End of the tour" It's about a group of girls who get killed in a head-on collision, and the driver of the other car blames himself because they will never be as old as he has gotten.
My Dying Bride - Sear me III Demons & Wizards - Fiddler on the green Iced Earth - A question of heaven Metallica - Low man's lyric Not really depressing, but very sad and beautiful at the same time and I've cried because of these songs more than once. Depressions never last long on me though. Maybe if you lock me up in a room with non-stop hip hop from the speakers I'd get suicidal. For people craving unpleasant, sombre, ungraceful music I can gleefully advise the Swans. Or Forgotten Tomb. Muhahaha.
janis joplin kozmic blues i love that song it's amazing! my really sad songs are Hole - drown soda, best sunday dress, garbadgeman, old age, petals and northern star. they really aren't a happy band. oh and system of a down chop suey and spiders always make me sad for some reason. great songs though.

Harry Chapin's song "Cats In the Cradle" The Beginning is the End is the Beginning (Smashing Pumpkins) Sunday Bloody Sunday (U2) Behind Blue Eyes (The Who... too bad Fred Durst fucking pissed all over their song...jerks.) Cousin Kevin / Fiddle About (The Who...for pete's sake, these songs are about getting bullied & child molestation, respectively) Dust In the Wind (Kansas) ...wow, I sure listen to a lot of sad songs...
Alot of Radioheads stuff off Kid A and Amnesiac is considered depressing by alot of people, it's brilliant though even if it has an air of melancholy about it.
