roll-up cigarettes

so a few months ago i switched from reds to newport 100s but the only place around here that sells cigarettes to minors sells newports for $9 a pack which is waaay too expensive, so i bought tops menthol rolling cigarettes for like $2.75, but they kinda taste like shit, soyeah..
does anyone know a good menthol rolling cigarette brand that's cheap?
also i was thinking of getting my dad to buy me a carton of newports online for $30, but are those websites legit or will i just get ripped off?

 

If your dad would buy you a carton from online, why wouldn't he buy you a carton locally from a place where they are cheaper since he isn't a minor?

 

they're still expensive here, $70 for a carton of newports. its just even more expensive from the place that sells to minors.

 

Shit that is a lot, is that after taxes? The store I work at sells ports for 4$ plus tax.

 

You could keep just buying the shitty ones so you don't smoke as much.

 

Also I don't know much about menthol ryo since I don't like most menthol cigs. Though if you don't mind non-menthol Drum, Bali Shag, and Jester are all wonderful ryo tobaccos. I did see someone recommend McClintock Menthol ryo somewhere though, but I haven't tried it.

Lol, frankly they both suck. I would shoot for an online cigarette vendor based on a native american reservation since federal taxes don't apply to them.

 

yeah cigarettes are expensive as fuck in chicago.
idk if $70 is after taxes or not cause ive never bought a carton, but i think theyre trying to raise taxes even more on cigarettes.

i know there are good non-menthol ones, imo tops without menthol arent even that bad, but yeah i want one w/ menthol.

 

fuck, what i do is i just hang out side convient stores and ask any cool looking 20 year olds that walk buy to buy me a pack of some kool's. its sketchy as shit and about 4/5 times it wont work but normally around the 5th person will do it. girls are most likely to do it, than black guys, but almost never white guys

 

Except some stores will have people come out and yell at you to fuck off, and getting yelled at to fuck off is never fun. That is probably your best bet though if you don't look anywhere near 18 or some shop owners are bitches.

 

I started "rolling" my own since its at least 6.25 a pack in NY with their damn 2.75 a pack tax on smokes. I use the term roll loosely because I got a premier supermatic tube filler and a box of tubes along with a bag of tobacco. Basically you take the cig tube filter and all you do is stuff the tobacco into the supermatic and then you slide it and it fills the cig tube leaving you with a cig that is of the same consistency of a normal cig out of the box. Anywho what I saw when I bought the box of tubes is that they make menthol tubes, basically the paper and the filter are sprayed with menthol so maybey that in combination with a decent menthol tobacco (or who knows maybey the menthol tobacco isn't needed with the menthol tube) you might be in business.

 

9 dollars a pack, thats cheaper than what i pay back home..still though...damn

 

Yes, TOP sucks.

My first suggestion is: don't smoke menthols, that's just nasty.

But if you insist, then the online stores are legit. Just make sure that the tobacco you're getting is from the US and not from Europe, or otherwise it will be a cheap rip off.

I am almost out though... so I might buy me a tin of Drum and might might might just try that Jester out.
