I was just wondering how many people make a big thing about smoking weed. Anybody have any ritualistic things they do? (Take shoes off before smoking, etc.)

the only thing i do is make sure i have some music and incense if possible. i did recently find a little figure of launchpad (from ducktales) when i smoked and it has brought me good luck since. so i try to have him when i smoke but thats about it.

    Launchpad, LOL

I always put on a good smoking CD and turn on a funny tv show(Adult Swim if possible). Sometimes I will go as far as to wear certain clothes when toking; For example, I will put on my shirt that depicts a skunk and says "keep on the grass" and I will wear one of my potleaf hats. I will definitely light some incense if I have any. I will clean my room before toking so I don't trip over something. I will gather all of the food that I might want for munchies and make sure that it's ready for when I want to eat it. I can't really think of anything else right now.

Well, most importantly I try to make sure I'm in a good mood. Actually, I only smoke if I'm in a good mood, so I should say instead a more or less spiritual mood. I like to toke barefoot (feel more connected) but it's too cold now for that and I'm no fool.

Rituals aren't big for me. What external motions you do mean little or nothing compared to what's going on inside you. Also, you can get attached to them, and that's no good, because the ritual is supposed to be symbolic, not something you have to do to feel a certain way or something.

Oh, and I don't consider playing music (unless it's one specific cd/song you ALWAYS play) or gathering munchie food to be rituals, that's just preparation so you don't waste your high doing those things.

i don't really do anything ritualist, except maybe shower afterwards if i'm smoking in my room. i do make preparations like topnotch though, like making sure that i have access to everything i need (e.g. music, food, lights)

when i smoke alone,i always prepare before lighting the joint,
    1) fave music "on" the computer so i can hear the songs in the bathroom
2)always have water/pepsi or both right next to me.
    3) and that my room is neat cuz i hate clutter and i'd probably start cleaning up !!

I wouldn't call it a ritual...but yes i like to make preparations before toking...

    1) make sure room is clean.
    2) change into comfortable clothing, make sure i'm 100% comfortable
    3) turn on some good music
    4) pack bowl
    5) light up
    6) meditate for about 30-45 minutes
    7) chillllllll

whats up with all the neat freaks in here? jk lol

monday will be the first time ive smoked in a month and a half(had to get clean because in order to decorate my room stoner-ish i had to pass a pee test...my dads a douche). when i get home on wednesday(if i have any bud left, goin to see KMK on tuesday!) ill prolly just get high with my girlfriend and chill on my hammock in my room watching tv.

i agree with trippin, its more important to think about whats inside then whats outside....why waste your time thinking about all kinds of dumb shit if you smoke in a bad mood?

Exactly, I make preparations for a toke so i can become completly worry free and enjoy the high in its entirety, I find that this way I can reach deeper levels of meditation.

I guess you are right when you say it's not "ritualistic". But I definitely consider all of these acts to be somewhat ceremonial. This stuff absolutely has to be done before I smoke, otherwise it won't be my kinda high.
