Apparently Global Warming deniers are having to resort to incredibly bad logic to support their theories, and now are going beyond any scientific evidence and resorting to MACHO theories to defend their continued rape of our planet.

If this was a joke, I might laugh at it, but if you look at the last credit line, you'll see this is all part of a disinformation campaign financed by oil companies to keep the world dependent on them.

When you see these Global Warming Denial stories, remember that the authors are being paid $10,000 for each one of these.

    Global Warming: Moving Towards Metrosexuals

    By Daniel Clark
    Mar 17, 2007

The latest point of emphasis in the global warming movement is that cattle farming endangers the planet by producing too much methane. So now, steaks and hamburgers are classified as instruments of destruction, along with large vehicles, lawn mowers, and charcoal grills. It can't be much longer before cowboy movies, cigars and hockey are held to be enemies of the earth as well.

This has got to be the most blatant assault on guyhood since ABC moved Coach to the same night as Roseanne, and turned Hayden Fox into Phil Donahue. It's a wonder that liberals don't cut to the chase, by simply claiming that global warming is caused by testosterone. Then, they could make public school nurses siphon the offending fluid from the boys during health class.

Many environmentalists believe that the earth is a living organism, personified by the Greek goddess Gaia. Conveniently, it turns out that Gaia is a shrew, who demands that her men be reduced to henpecked, metrosexual noodles. Manliness makes Gaia angry, and we wouldn't like her when she's angry, because she'll turn into a green monster and start smashing everything to bits. Hell hath no fury like an earth goddess exposed to excessive cattle-produced methane emissions.

Wouldn't it be more plausible if a few items like styling gel, latte makers and tofu were said to destroy the planet as well? Perhaps, but that would not serve the purpose of expanding the base of the global warming movement. Since no liberal cause can produce much support on its own, any one of them must ally itself with all other liberal causes, so that they can pool their resources.

That's why it's almost impossible to distinguish the original purpose of a left-wing political rally. What starts out being an 'anti-war' demonstration will invariably become an convention of environmentalists, gun control advocates, pro-abortionists, animal rights activists, racial Balkanists, and outright Communists, because that's the only way to prevent the size of the crowd from being laughably small. Therefore, environmental alarmists must incorporate other causes within their own, in order to keep their core of support relatively large and energized. Clearly, they've determined their alliance with the feminists to be vital to these ends.

It's not coincidental that the icon of the global warming movement is former vice president Al Gore, who, during the 2000 presidential campaign, sought advice from feminist author Naomi Wolf on how to become an "alpha male." Needless to say, she did not suggest that he scarf down a steak sandwich while sitting behind the wheel of a riding mower. Instead, her solution was to dress him in earth tones, as if obsessing over his wardrobe was any way to attain guydom. Never is it manly to ask, "does this make my butt look big," even if you want the answer to be yes.

For Wolf to tell Gore that he'd become an "alpha male" just by wearing the right clothing is a little like a mother patronizing her young child. She probably got the idea when Gore put a bucket over his head and said, "Look, Ms. Wolf, I'm an astronaut," and she replied, "Yes, of course you are, dear."

Images of global destruction being more powerful than images of normalcy and stability, Gore and friends are bound to win the competition for people's emotions. Hence, they are now deterring any analysis of the issue, by calling skeptics "global warming deniers," a not very subtle comparison to neo-Nazis. If we succumb to this intimidation like a bunch of namby-pamby rice cake eaters, the debate will be lost for good.

Thus, the global warming movement seeks to repress guyhood in order to perpetuate itself. If a guy is shown a picture of a sad-looking polar bear adrift on an ice floe, his first thought will be something like, "I've heard that bear steaks are tough, but maybe if you marinated them in beer, they'd turn out all right." At that point, the alarmists' emotional ploy is foiled. In a world without guy stuff, however, his vacant mind may be invaded by irrationalities like, "Who will take care of the
    polar bears' children?"

In this chicken-and-the-egg scenario, the success of the global warming movement is both the cause and effect of our society's emasculation. It would have never gotten this far if the "Nineties Man" hadn't paved the way. When "I feel your pain" became a successful presidential campaign slogan, we should have known that charcoal-grilled steaks would soon be on the endangered list.

It's nice when the government and the oil companies write an article with such clear research, undisputed evidence, and clear goals to save our planet.

    Wait a minute...

Am I the only one who detects a homophobe behind that article? Veiled of course, but definitely there cause he thinks those who are spreading the truth about Global warming aren't macho enough, and that this line of thought emasculates men.

He makes it sound like to be aware and concerned about our impacts on the environment makes us "namby-pamby", whatever that is supposed to mean. Is that supposed to be short for NAMBLA?

I've researched that New Media Alliance, and they are a scarey lot! They're a conservative group that offers up opinions to counter the liberal press.

They've now got a program on College campuses across the nation to provide a counter-source of information to the "liberal agenda" that supposedly gets taught by "left-wing" professors, cause you just can't find as many lies on campus as in the right wing media these days, so they're gonna rectify that!

I've a great idea! Why doesn't some of you here, esp. those who can come up with a decent academic resume, pose as a conservative writer, and come up with some shit like this article, maybe even MORE OUTRAGEOUS. Submit that, collect $10,000, wait until your article has hit the media, then go PUBLIC and deny it, tell everyone it was HOAX, that none of it is true, tell everyone how much you got paid for it, and that this is HOW EASY IT IS to get lies published in conservative media!

Someone MUST DO THAT SOON! :)

    Putting the article aside....

Skip, in your opinion, what is the best "evidence" supporting manmade global warming? We know other planets in the solar system are also undergoing a warming process. We know that Antarctic ice core samples show that the rise in carbon dioxide levels lags behind temperature rise by 800 years. We know that human contribution to carbon dioxide levels is quite minimal when compared with other natural means such as volcanic emission and the ocean. We know that sun spot activity and solar radiation activity almost exactly parallel temperature change on earth.

Also, how do you address the fact that the IPCC's conclusion was politically-driven, and that dissenting scientists were deliberately censored while still listing them as participants? Many of these scientists are now seeking legal action against the IPCC to have their names removed from the report.

I would also like you to speak on how the elitists and their bureaucracies use and exploit the issue of the environment to justify government land grabbing of private land owners, the centralization of tyrannical government power, the impending imposition of a global CO2 tax, and the promotion of international laws and standards via the UN: the trojan horse for world government.

Would you also care to comment on the below quote by the communist, pro-eugenics Club of Rome member, Mikhail Gorbachev, who said that "the threat of environmental crisis will be the 'international disaster key' that will unlock the New World Order"; who founded Green Cross and Global Green, as well as founded the Earth Charter together with global elitist, Maurice Strong?

The reason I am asking these questions, Skip, is because you claimed there is no scientific evidence that disproves manmade global warming, when there is no solid scientific evidence that even confirms manmade global warming. You also seem to place an enormous amount of faith in the people who are pushing this from the top, seemingly unaware or unconcerned about what their underlying agenda might be.

There is evidence, the fact that graphs show a relationship between CO2 and tempreture. We've know this since the 1790's. watch an inconvient truth.

Frankly, the right wing nutjobs hate anything liberal. They attempt to bring the moral and polictial clock back 50 or 60 years and ignore evidence from scientists and psycologists (unless the scientists themselfs are right wing).

I know a RWN who won't leave me alone. His aim: To convert everyone into a euro hating, closet racist. And guess what? He is my age!

I worry for RWNs. They ignore all else to convert you to their agenda.

I wouldn't watch an An Inconvenient Truth because I already know it's a convenient lie consisting of distorted and exaggerated claims presented as "facts."

It's funny how an elitist like Al Gore, who is torn from the same cloth as George W. Bush, is admired by people, simply because he's a Democrat and peddles propaganda about the environment which people automatically accept as unquestionable fact, when we know he is a staunch globalist, and globalists have been using the issue of the environment to further their agenda for decades. There is no end to how the public can be manipulated by people who pose as our saviors, when they're probably laughing at them behind closed doors.

As Adam Weishaupt once said, "Oh foolish man, what can you not be made to believe?"

The current big lie of the RWNs, global warming deniers is that the sun is responsible. False, and here's the data:

But of course the Truth won't stop them from their Orwellian double speak and paranoia.

To me the most glaring evidence is the fact that the acceleration of the warming is UNPRECEDENTED in history. Even during the worst case scenarios in the past, those times when 95% of Earth's species were wiped out, the Earth's temperature, CO2 & methane emissions NEVER EVER increased as fast as they are now.

We have seen in just the last 50 years such a huge increase in temps, and emissions, that would normally take hundreds if not thousands of years to reach under "natural" conditions.

So to claim that these are "natural" cycles is bullshit, cause we've NEVER EVER seen a natural cycle move this fast.

So that fact ALONE, besides the THOUSANDS of corroborating facts makes it perfectly clear what is happening to this planet, and WHY!

Rat, you do realize of course that people are being PAID by oil companies to deny Global Warming. That is the only reason why there is any skepticism.

I suppose you still believe the world is flat, and the sun revolves around the earth. Yup there were lots of skeptics during Galileo's time too, and they had special interests that were threatened by the truth, just as is happening today.

Because to truly fight Global Warming the entire world must either give up their "modern" lifestyle of endless consumption and waste, or implement EXISTING technologies that don't rely on fossil fuels.

The hardest hit industy is of course the one fighting this and paying for these lies to be printed, the Oil Industry. They have the most to lose, and so they are going to use $BILLIONS to fight this.

But it's too late because the rest of the world, esp. Europe is way ahead of the US, which is really sad cause WE could be leading the world, if we'd spend a fraction of the money we do on wars on saving the environment.

You wait Rat, just as our predictions regarding Bush came true, so too will our predictions regarding the environment. And it's gonna happen faster than even the most scared scientists think. What we are gonna witness in the next few years will change EVERYTHING...

    Skip,

You pretty much ignored everything I brought up in my first response to your thread, but that's all right. You will believe what you want to believe, and there is nothing I can do to change that. Personally, I am more concerned about exposing the truth than being right all the time.

I do agree with you that the next few years will change everything, because we are going to see some of the worst fascism brought against mankind that we have ever seen in the recorded history of this planet. Much like the phony threat of terrorism has been used to push totalitarian police state legislation, the same will hold true with legislation passed in the wake of the incessant fear-mongering regarding manmade global warming, which is being pushed from the top by people like Al Gore and his globalist cronies at the UN.

Because of a few elites at the top who have their own agenda, who want to push these doomsday scenarios on us to scare us into submission, we WILL (as you said) be forced to change the way we live. This is exactly what this is all about. You see, it's about CONTROL. It's not about the environment. It will eventually come to the point where private ownership of vehicles will be eliminated (except for the Elite), private property will be abolished (except for the Elite), and travel will be severely curtailed (except for the Elite). You won't be able to do ANYTHING, and you can be sure that everything you do will be closely tracked and monitored by big brother. This is all part of the upcoming orwellian surveillance society, which is largely already in place.

You mention the oil companies, but isn't it funny that some of the top shareholders in these companies -- who are polluting the environment and CREATING THE PROBLEM -- are some of the same ones who are going to now bring forth the alleged "solution" and tell us how we will have to live our lives.

(You can be sure that when this happens, none of it will apply to them. They will still get to own their mansions, drive whatever kind of cars they like, own as much land as they want, travel to wherever they want, whenever they want... etc.)

I know you don't want to hear about how the environmental movement is an arm of the globalists, funded into existence by the Rothschilds and the Rockefellers through the Club of Rome, but the facts are facts. I know you think this is some grassroots movement, but it's not. We are talking about a MULTI-BILLION DOLLAR PER YEAR INDUSTRY. I can tell you right now the bulk of this money isn't coming simply from concerned individuals.

The Elite are good at getting behind what seem to be genuine and noble causes at face value, getting people to join them, thinking they're doing something that will benefit them. It's quite ironic, however, that the people who shun increased big brother control under the false guise of "stopping terrorism," will accept it under the threat of environmental crisis and global warming. They never think about the people who are pushing this from the top, or ask themselves why nearly every media outlet is promoting this as if it's proven fact.

The fact that you say the global warming we are experiencing is "unprecedented," isn't saying much. The history of recorded weather is quite young, and we know the earth has been through heating cycles in the past. Ice core samples have proven the rise in C02 levels lags behind temperature rise by 800 years. This is a point I made in the first post I made, which you ignored.

I am certainly not denying global warming exists, and I know humans have done a lot to pollute the air we breathe and contaminate the water we drink. However, I am not ready just yet to jump on the global warming bandwagon and demand big brother save me from impending death.

I am far less concerned about global warming than I am about how global warming will be used and exploited by government to send us further down the spiral to enslavement, using more totalitarian measures to control the population.

I seem to remember predictions based on your conspiracy theories having a poor track record with coming true. What happened to Kerry being supposed to win in 2004 because he was favoured by the Bilderberg Group? Are there any conspiracy theories out there you don't believe?

I don't recall ever saying that John Kerry would win because he was selected by the Bilderberg Group. (According to my knowledge, Kerry didn't attend the Bilderberg meeting that year.) What I said was that his running-mate, John Edwards, was selected by the Bilderbergers to run with Kerry.

You're saying the temperature rise comes first, then the CO2 levels rise 800 years later? That would support what I say. Because in the PAST it took 800 years of temperatures slowly rising BEFORE CO2 levels rise. Why? because the temperatures rose slowly, and as they did areas become more arid, there are many more wildfires, thus releasing CO2 gradually over the course of time.

What is happening NOW by contrast is that it ISN'T taking 800 years in fact in less than 50 years, we have seen BOTH temperature AND CO2 rise alarmingly in such a short time.

The fact that CO2 emissions have accelerated far beyond historical records, indicates we have a MAN-MADE phenomenon here.

Indeed the burning of the planet's forests has accelerated dramatically in the past 50 years, with the Amazon & Africa's rainforests disappearing daily. The man-made fires to clear the land release enormous amounts of CO2 into the atmosphere. And with fewer trees around to help absorb it, it accumulates fast.

In addition the cycle is feeding upon itself now, and thus what we do now is probably TOO FUCKING LATE to do anything but slow the process down.

So now the CO2 is mostly coming from MELTING PERMAFROST & glaciers all over the arctic & mountain regions of the Earth, and from defrosting seabeds all over the planet. Before it would've taken 800 years to reach this point, naturally, that 50 years of man-made deforestation & pollution has achieved.

And Rat, in case you think I don't know what I'm talking about, I have a University degree in a related subject, so if you wanna tangle with me on this, you better do indepth research, otherwise I won't respond to your denial propaganda. Start with Al Gore's movie to get you in the mood, then hit the REAL science sites, not propaganda sites.

Then your view would conflict with those promoting manmade global warming, who are claiming the opposite, saying that the rise in CO2 is directly related to an increase in temperature. Since most manmade global warming advocates seemingly rule out anything other than CO2 as being a contributor to global warming, what then exactly caused this temperature rise? If something other then CO2 caused the temperatures to rise back then, what was it, and why are these factors being ruled out in the cause of global warming today by the proponents of manmade GW?

We all know that there are many variables that play into global warming, including the sun, earth cycles (ie. El Nino), etc. Why do the manmade GW proponents refuse to acknowledge this?

Even if it was unprecedented, which it's not, how does this prove beyond all reasonable doubt that HUMANS are the cause of it when there are so many factors that play into this that are not related to humans?

We have seen earlier periods of warming that long predate the Industrial Revolution.

For instance, there was the Medieval Warm Period, which spanned the years of 800-1300AD, which was directly followed by the Little Ice Age, spanning from 1300-1900AD. While the temperatures of today are indeed much warmer than those of the Little Ice Age period, most areas of the world show the Medieval warmth to be greater than that of the 20th century.

Would you care to explain how it is that that the temperatures had risen by the greatest amount before 1940, then dropped from 1940-1975, which is in direct contrast with the CO2 lobby's claim? The pre-war years were almost in a recession industrially, as compared to the post-war boom in industry, when the C02 emissions were even greater than they are today.

You say it's "too late," yet you will be willing to accept the extreme measures that will be put into place by the government to curtail something you claim cannot be reversed? If that's the case, then why NOW all the hype? Why is it NOW all of a sudden this massive crisis that human beings have to lay down all their freedoms and liberties, and change their way of living for something that, as you claim, is too late to correct?

Did I say you don't know what you're talking about?

So you have a degree in a related subject? What does that prove? There are scientists who have worked their entire lives studying climate, who would say the exact opposite of what you are. Some of these people were on the IPCC, and their findings, which were contrary to those of manmade global warming, were censored, despite the fact their names were still listed on the final report.

As far as Al Gore's movie... I have read numerous synopses of the movie and viewed at least a dozen clips from the movie. I know everything that's covered in the documentary -- which is the same stuff that has been spouted by the manmade GW proponents for years -- despite not having seen it in its entirety. Even if I thought Mr. Gore was a genuine human being and doing more than using fear, hype and junk science to scare and condition his bewildered audiences into accepting major changes in how we must live our lives, I would still be skeptical. I would be skeptical simply because it's coming from Al Gore and his buddies at the United Nations, who have been using the environment for decades to grab private land, establish international law, and centralize government power.

I wonder what Al Gore is doing himself to save the environment, other than fear-mongering. I wonder if he is ready to relinquish one or two of his mansions to save the environment, or forsake flying all over the world in his private jet.

    Probably not.

The 800 year lag simply proves that CO2 was not responsible for the first 800 years of warming when the earth was coming out of its ice ages. It seems likely that the release of CO2 is precipitated by global temperature rises, and then the Co2 starts to act as a reinforcer of temperature rise because of its effect as a 'greenhouse gas', like a feedback loop. If you add even more greenhouse gases than would otherwise have been there, then you increase the greenhouse effect beyond what could normally be expected of these natural 'balanced' cycles and contribute to further warming than would naturally have occurred. That's pretty much what the scientific consensus says - that human factors are forcing global temperature higher than it would otherwise have been.

Of course there are many factors which affect global temperature. The sun is, fairly obviously, the main one. Greenhouse gases do not cause the warming, they trap heat from solar radiation like a greenhouse. Hence the name.

I believe the slight cooling effect in the middle of the last century is explained by aerosols, another factor in manmade pollution which results in 'global dimming', lessening the amount of solar radiation which reaches the earth. Ironically as our emissions get 'cleaner' we have less aerosols in the atmosphere which in turn increases solar warming.

Yes, the medieval warm period was hotter than the twentieth century. But global mean temperature today seems to be higher than at any point in the past two thousand years and this warming trend will probably continue as a result of atmospheric accumulation of greenhouse gases.

It's all very well to question the science, but first of all it's a really good idea to actually read what the scientists are saying, rather than just attacking straw men.

What I wonder is if conservatives and others are going to stop attacking Al Gore out of jealousy of his success. Let's face it: there are bitter feelings towards him because instead of being laughed at, as he was in the beginning, people are starting to realize that, hey, maybe this guy is right. He provides factual evidence and is convincing in his argument. It is not just Al Gore who has written and spoken about global warming. There are many other scientists who have before and after him. Why do some people find it so hard to believe that just maybe the planet was damaged by man's greed? It comes as no surprise to me at all. Humans can be the most monsterous animals that exist, whether they realize it or not. It is easy to sit back and put the blame on "natural fluctuations in the weather," instead of getting rid of the SUVs, trucks, ect. It is not fear-mongering; it is calling people to action before it is too late. No supporter of global warming is implying that we are doomed. What they ARE saying is that if we each do our part, this problem can and will be fixed. We do not own the world. The world owns us. We cannot abuse and torment it and expect it to provide a home for our children and grandchildren. If those material items honestly mean more than life on Earth for our grandchildren, then that is a sad case. How is it known that man caused this and not nature? Look at history. In the past, CO2 fluctuations have been balanced, going up and back down. Now, however, they keep going up and up and up. Why? Humans get greedier and greedier and greedier. It is not that hard of a concept to grasp. As for Al gore, he does work to help the environment. I think that you should read and learn about him before you insult him.

By the way, refusing to watch "An Inconvenient Truth" because it clashes with your opinion takes away a lot of credibility in what you say and adds a lot of ignorance. If you have never seen it, how can you sit there and act as if you know that everything stated is wrong and non-factual? You act as though Al Gore is the only one who raises awareness about global warming. I suggest going to the library and reading a few books. Sorry, I forgot that you cannot do that because they are all fear-mongering fairy tales that go against your opinion, and that makes them automatically wrong.

    Excellent response! :)

You see Rat's attitude is what EVERYONE needs to FEAR, because if everyone thought like him, people would do NOTHING at all.

Nothing about the environment & Global Warming.
Nothing about the CORRUPT idiots who continue to ignore Global Warming
Nothing about those in power who abuse that power.
Nothing about those warmongers, Oil Men, arms dealers, etc. because they believe there's this BIG CONSPIRACY and we are POWERLESS to do anything about it.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

We have MORE POWER than we realize. All we have to do IS USE IT!

Those who are supposedly in control today can be gone tomorrow, if we decide to do it.

The US is still a country of laws, as is most of the Industrialized world. We can change those laws, we can put people OUT OF POWER, and then those supposed ELITE who rule, won't have their puppets to play with anymore.

If that doesn't work, REVOLUTION works too.

By adopting Rat's pessimistic, powerless point of view, you're expected to DO NOTHING ABOUT EVERYTHING. Just accept that's the way things are. Imshallah. About as fatalistic as you can get. It's the lazy man's guide to reality.

In the instance of Global warming, now that these skeptics ACTUALLY AGREE at last that it's happening (just months ago they were still denying it existed at all), they just deny that man has anything to do with it. So therefore there is NOTHING WE CAN DO to stop it.

That's what they WANT YOU TO BELIEVE so that you don't curtail those business practices that are ruining our planet. Mustn't dissapoint our stockholders.

So PR you are looking everyday more like a shill for those very Elites you condemn. You want us to believe we are powerless, when in the last election we proved otherwise. We've only begun cleaning out Congress.

With the new technology at our disposal we CAN oversee Congress ourselves and the presidency too, once every decision there is no longer classified as TOP SECRET.

We can take back the power that's been usurped, and change the course of this country and the world. We just have to decide that's what we're going to do. And it's already begun. So don't let ppl like RAT tell you you can't do anything about it cause you can.

Power and wealth are temporal. They come and go, and those who seize it are those who have it.

    POWER TO THE PEOPLE, BABY!
