I had Stretch too. G.I. Joe "Clutch" and a truck. Assorted Star Wars figures, a Jaws Game and more. (I'll post some photos as soon as I can).
i remember when they weren't "retro". bloody hell, i remember when they were NEW. including the introduction of ken, and before there ever was any thing called an "action figure". i remember when matchbox cars actually came in something the size and shape of a matchbox, which, i'm wondering how many actually remember, small cardboard boxes, about the size of two postage stamps, that wooden matches short enough to fit int them, that they were actually sold in. this was at least 20 years before 'hotwheels' too. when something brio trains and track were actually cheap, and sold at five and dime stores. when a transformer was a piece of electrical equipment used to power and control electric trains like lionel and american flyer.
I had hundreds of matchbox cars, never played with them all in their boxes, when my younger brother was born my mam gave them all to him because 'you never play with them', he wrecked them all, they would be worth thousands now.
'smoke gun' these were a kids toy in the 1970's, you put a few drops of light oil in them and they made a loud bang and a puff of smoke came out of the barrel, the one I had had no white on it, it looked like a real gun, you'd get shot today playing in the streets with one.
I had one of these cars, they came out in the year I was born, my uncle worked in the states at the time and hearing I had been born he sent one back for when I got older, wish I still had it now.
Cool. Thanks for the replies. I am guessing I don't have enough points yet to be able to post pictures. I will post them when I am able. I had a Smokey and The Bandit race set, a M*A*S*H* playset complete with helicopter. An X-Wing Fighter w/R2 & Luke too. I wish I had kept some of them. There is a box somewhere in the basement filled with assorted games, etc.
