Starting on Sunday October 9th 2005, the 65th birthday of John Lennon and thereafter every October 9th shall be known as the John Lennon Day for Peace and Love on Earth. I was at the Dakota on December 8th 1980 from 11:45pm till 8:45am the next morning. These 9 hours were the longest and saddest of my life. That night I promised John I would give the rest of my life to Changing the World by filling it with Peace and Love. This is why this petition is online, to gather the more than 10 million signatures that will be needed to make this dream a reality. Imagine all the people of Earth honoring John Lennon, a man who gave his life for spreading the message of Peace and Love. This holiday is for all the people of Earth to celebrate together in harmony, One Love in the spirit of Christmas time. We should be celebrating his birthday, not the day he died... I'd love to see a holiday in his name, but on his birthday... I think he'd want us to live happily and spread love around the world, not mourn his death. Mourning is a waste of time, it accomplishes nothing, and I doubt he'd like us to sit here and do nothing while the world is in such a sad state.
I saw a documentary on him today. It was about after the beatles ended. Man he was an amazing guy, its really sad he died. Usually when people are dead that I dont know its not a big deal, but damn, john was such a visionary, its really sad.
most people at my school wouldn't know who he is, krystin's lucky at my elementary school they did play jimi hendrix's version of the star spangled banner once they used to play it every morning, and so it was kinda random, but awesome
