I just saw this movie and it was very very good. Shocking however, but still good. I wonder if a junkie can actually get like that. Makes me want to stay away from heroin. I thought it the end was really sad though. Got me pretty close to tearin up actually. Very touching. I think the scene at the end where it showed how everyone's lives got so fucked up and it showed how many people can be affected. The acting was really good in it too. What did you guys think? If you havent seen it I highly recommend it.
I think he was shooting coke or crack, not heroin. Dunno though.. I saw it once a few years ago when I first started doing drugs and was like derrrrr, drugs are kewl, and didnt really get anything out of it. Saw it recently a couple weeks ago on HBO or something, and it was one of the most depressing movies Ive seen in a while. The lady reminds me of my mom, and the guys of my uncle sordove, and I just know theres a lot of other people who are exactly like that, and thats so sad to me... especially with the lady. Made my stomach sordove uneasy, and brought out a really sad feeling of empathy in me.
Good movie. Very disturbing though. Like the seen where the dude's geirlfreind (I forgot the names) got it on with her old therapist for money, and then showed the scene where she stabbed him in the hand. Or the scene where the girl perceived that she was overweight so she blew a line of cocaine and her belly went down. The last scene was very touching as well. I was not only outraged by the decadance in the movie, but at the racism of the doctor and police in the south, when they went into the hospital. Jared Leto (is that his name?) is a very good actor. The first time I saw the movie I was tripping on acid. When the movie ended, I went and took a shower. That's how much it disturbed me. The second time I saw it, I wasn't on anything, but it still bothered me. Great movie, very artistic, though I wouldn't recomend it to anyone unless that person has a very strong stomach.
Very disturbing. Like "Spun" in the sense that it had the effect of both making me want to try the substance that the movie was based upon and hoping I never see the shit.
movie gets under my skin, makes me depressed, and makes me loath addiction in general. excellent flick.....oh and btw definately smack.
It's a great flick; very raw and sad. Only thing that cheers me up about it is seeing Jennifer Connelly
there's already a thread about this movie. but yes, tragic and beautifully made. Def one of my favorites.
i really enjoyed the movie...except i havent seen the end yet. the dvd i was watching on was to scratched...so i dont know what ultimatly happens...
I think this movie should be shown to every highschool student worldwide! It just portrays the whole thing so well! Its not like normal drug education where someone comes in and tells you are drugs are bad and then you have your first hit and it feels fucking amazing, so why would people listen to them?? This movie goes from the exstacy to the tragedy, and all in differing circumstances.....beautiful!! Just about everyone I know, including myself, was unable to speak for at least 15mins after this film ended!
Kids idolize things that appear to be negative as well you know....... depicting the "bad side" of drug use accurately may defer some but it will entice others. Lots of kids WANT to be reckless!
Well in that case the movie will do nothing to deter or encourage them! People already know the 'dangers' of drug use - no need for a movie to show them!
actress the only complaint I have about the movie is the fanbase all the druggies are like "whoa that movie is so trippy" and love it, when it's a movei that basically says they are retards
