The day dawns desolate and gray.
The suns summers rays have slipped their bonds of servitude
and relinquished their rein over the season and the day

Longing for the warmth of that summer sun when I realized that now is the time, but the time has past, and is yet to come.

Cold winter rain beats the golden leaves from the austere trees
    leaving them bare and grave.

A repose for the season of strength,
and a nurturing of earth from discarded leaves

Rest dear Earth and regain your strength
Drink the cold winter rain and feed from decay
We will meet in a field of green and I will bathe in the radiance of the sun
And we will know that it is summer once again
