The Rainbow Family of Living Light welcomes you to the regional family gatherings; a place where people co-operate not compete.

Each year the family holds the Gathering of the Tribes, a totally Free non-commercial sharing of our lives and sacred hearts, in the Cathedral of Nature for the healing of the earth. Regional gatherings like this one are where our tribes are defined; here we forge relationships, practice the alternative living skills and keep alive the spirit we bring to larger gatherings like the North American Gathering.

Technology

AGAIN, Recent councils have reaffirmed original consensus that the gathering of the tribes is intended as an opportunity to experiment with different ways of living. For this reason and others we ask that firearms, radios, tape decks, electric lights, sound amplification equipment, chainsaws, and power tools be left at home. All vehicles stop at the parking lot or bus village.



Main Gate

When you volunteer for main gate you get to see it all come in. Parking crew keeps the roads open and gate crew greets the world with hugs and info. Main gate is where new gatherers first see RAP 107 (Read and Heed!). All weapons, AGRO, alcoholic beverages, and other forms of intoxication stop here.

 

Nice post. San Diego Scroll is hosting Rainbow 101 back to basics circles every weekend till national. This needs to be done in every city and town where we gather for potlucks and drum circles to educate not only new comers but to remind all of us of what is acceptable and what is not. I posted a thread on getting back to basics and reminding everyone here what our mini manual, which is our guide to having a safe gathering says and what our traditions are.

"It has always been tradition to discourage alcohol use at our gatherings. Remember what you use is your business but what you abuse is everyones business."

Its not "Everyone with a bellybutton" that is welcome but "Every non violent person" that is welcome, bellybutton or not.
Just a couple of things to keep in mind... Safe gatherings dont just happen, WE have to make it happen. Lets have a fun and peaceful gathering.

i love the idea of the scroll rainbow 101, im going to be leaving philly before the next potluck but gonna try getting some stasrted in ok when i get threre, what sorts of things are discussed at the rainbow 1021 back to basics things?
i mean i know the odvios, but ciuld ya post lil more info?

I'm trying to get potlucks going here if the snow would ever go away so we can have them in the city park but there is still a foot on the ground. I want to do a back to basics circle here also to help educate.

So what is your purpose of this flame post here? Both chill. I agree with HHB on the point of Rainbowtoke not really qualifying as a Rainbow Family member. But 'tis neither the time nor the place to start an argument.

And please tell me and everyone here, Just how dont I "qualify". I am non violent and I have a bellybutton. Just because I beleive immigrants need to either become legal workers or citizens in no way makes me violent or takes away my bellybutton and even if it did so what, I dont need a bellybutton...

man i been around rainbow long enough to know that peoples politics and views on life and death vary just as much as in the rest of society. more often than not more radical views on all sides than most of society..
