Life stopped being great in about year 2000, most of the 90s were generally peaceful maybe ecept the darfur genocide and first iraq conflict. but other then that it was warm years and technology was coming around.
having lived most of six decades i cannot say as i have as yet seen a year or a decade without its share of both good AND bad. i could list the good and bad of each decade and probably have before, but for now i'll just stay mellow and avoid loading this down with all of those details, of which there are many many. =^^= .../\...
I miss the 80's a time of execess and technology was just warming up. I lived in the Pacific NW and ol Ronny Regan did his best to keep us all rolling in the cash with defense contracts and such. Boeing, HP, Flukes, Eldec and so many others were employed to capacity. Money was rolling and parties and weed, oh man so much weed, hardly anyone heard of piss tests, cops were less likely to jack you around, fast cars, cruizen, sex was awesome no matter how bad it was, buy booze underage, I was alot more muscle and my hair was actually blonde not kinda goldy brown, I was cute, damn, now Im depressed, I gonna drink some water and wish it was vodka, lol
when i think of the 90's i think of the colour pink, smiles and pretty bad music... but I know what you mean, the 90's were ok now that I think about it.
I remember life being great up until I graduated high school. It's been just okay since then. Really miss being a kid, though...
I've come to the conclusion that the year all the good times ended was 1980.I base this on: *The Death of John Lennon. The Beatles' era was physically over as well as spiritually.* *The emergence of Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. She was willing to do anything to cure Britain's ailling economy.By using the 'Monetarist' technique of controlling the 'money supply' she deliberately forced demand down & created 3 million unemployed & huge social upheaval which led to riots & begging on the streets 'en mass' for the first time since the 1930s.* *The emergence of the 'Moral Right' in America.Liberals were on the run everywhere.* *The death of Peter Sellers. The funniest British comedian of the post-war era.*
But you had Vietnam going on, and Nixon, oil shocks, etc. I don't think any decade has been better than another. Like, the 50s had prosperity and stuff, but it was conservative as hell, with McCarthyism, plus the thread of getting nuked was real as hell. like themnax said, it's always a mix.
