I'm sure a lot of you older hippies remember Counsin Brucey. I know I sure do. Weren't those great days? He used to play the song by Hit numbers, like, "super hit 1, hit 1, hit 1." And you were so happy when they played the song you wanted to hear because you knew the hit number. I remember sleeping over at my granmother's house, and listening to my uncle's big, old, German radio with the buttons that you pressed to turn it on, and that green light on it. What was your favorite song back then? I remember "Wild Thing" by the Troggs was one of my favorites at the time. In 1967 I got the Frank Zappa album, "Lumpy Gravy." I was totally fascinated with that album, it was so different and so experimental.

Just floatin down member lane, it feels so good!

    Peace,
    Jas

I bought one of those spark-o-matic converters, enabled you to hear fm radio thru the am radio in your car....:) Wasn't very high-fi tho....
Had a bunch of 8-tracks in the later 60's too.....:)

I pretty much only had LPs - Never had an 8 track. I guess I went straight to audio tape. Remember transistor radio's. It was amazing then how they could pack a radio in such a little box. Ahhh - and when hard rock came out on FM - now that was exciting.

I went from a AM radio to now I have 2 AM radios. I put one on each side of my bed and tuned both to the same station, either KJR or KOL. This was my version of Thomas Edison High Fidelity. And for those not in the know Hi-Fi was the next breakthrough from AM to FM.

I also went straight from LPs to cassettes and in '04 bought my first music CD. I've never looked back. I often will buy a CD for one or two songs. Sure is nice listening to same tune over and over for 3 days or 3 weeks. Try doing that with a cassette.:sifone:
