red light districts/haarlem,utrecht

hi.
i have been to amsterdam several times , but i have never been able to find a red light district in kattgat or albert cruypstraat , is there one or not?, any info on this whould be apprecciated, also apart from the main red light areas are there other sex shops in amsteram, apart from by cental station .


are there any sex shops in utrecht/haarem again any info is appreciated.

 

ehm.. the only red light district is THE red light district. There are some other 'window prostitutes' throughout the whole city as well as in other cities.. but a whole district is only to be found in Amsterdam near the Central Station. It's also called 'de wallen' in Dutch, just follow the signs. The majority of the sexshops are concentrated in that part of town as well, although you can find sexshops throughout the whole city. The Albert Cuyp is known for its market and as far as I know there are no window prostitutes there.

btw.. if you've seen one sexshop.. you've basically seen them all. Maybe 'Christine le Duc' is a bit different because it's supposed to be 'women friendly' (usually female deskclerk, open windows etc etc.. so not too shady), but it's kinda expensive.

I agree with Velvet, once you've seen 1 sex shop you've seen them all and don't forget as you walk out of Central Station there is the main RLD on the left and also on the right around Spuistraat and Singel. Also, Private houses (Privehuizen) are dotted all over the city. Check the ''message board'' on the link below for the info you want.

There is some street down there on a canal with some ladies in windows, but from a beauty standpoint they were not the most lovely.
