Quick technique for smoking RESIN..

So I was reading a bunch of threads about smoking resin, because I usually dont, but I decided to try it without scraping my piece.

I plugged all the holes on my spoon pipe and took a torch lighter and started heating it all around the bowl area from undeneith. It was getting crazy hot. My pipe was still a bit clear and I could see the smoke inside just filling up, getting extremely milky.

I removed the plugs and immediatly smoke started pouring out, I quickly started hitting it, I took a HUGE drag, there was a ton of smoke.

I didn't expect it to fill up so much, then I let the hit out, and the bowl, even with the plugs out, began filling again! I hit it again.

The resin was torching hot and still cooking even without using the lighter. It stayed this was for about 6 hits before it started dying out. There is sitll a load of resin in there too.

Kind of wack, but if you want to smoke resin without scraping, and you have a nice bit, this is pretty cool to try...

Also another way to do it is put your thumb over the bowl and light through the carb hole and just suck through the end perice like normal.. You can ussually get some pretty nice hits off of that

 

i ended up smoking what i think was either salvia or meth resin last night maybe anyway cus i was at a party all weekend and 2 of my friends had mdma but they guy who bought it thinks it might have been meth and thought he was buying mdma.
also there might have been some salvia there and the resin tasted extra shit last night and very strange. i just left my bong in the main room and let people use it as they wanted at the party so im not 100% sure what was in it.
finding out in 20 mins though cus im going to a friends place

 

Thats kinda peaky.. My freind had some kid smoke crack out of his perfectly new glass pipe and he just threw it on the ground and broke it.. i dont blame him i wouldnt smoke out of that

 

yeah, iv cleaned it out good and replaced the bowl and downtube just in case.
I dont mind salvia or mdma but if i found out he smoked meth (even though he didnt know)
in my bong without even asking i'll be a bit peeved to say the least

 

Good call with the bowl replacement... thats really the big thing to worry about

yeah, they're really pissed at the guy that sold them it though...they would never have taken meth...absolutely evil substance, fucking hate that shit

yea my freind broke his glass like that.. but it was like 10 dollars so yea it was cheap

 

My pipe was pretty cheap and it's still holding up 100% for over 5 years.

I've done this 3 times now, and not the slightest sign of 'breaking'...

Also, the heat from the torch lighter is nothing like the heat the glass undergoes while shaping..

You're only holding it under the pipe for a few seconds anyway.

I'll keep trying in hopes to actually see if it will break it, I've wanted a reason to buy a new pipe for a while now...

Thats a nice peice man, and i would agree with you exept ive seen it happen... Im pretty sure there has to be a flaw or weakpoint in the glass for it to break under the heat of a lighter but im not sure

 

continually heating and re-heating glass puts it under stress.


Higher quality glass has less stresses (weak points) in it, because they are normally kiln cooled. Which means that the glass is brought down to temperature at a very steady pace, instead of cooling it rapidly, which produces stress points.

Holding the torch lighter to a piece of glass agitates the stress points, eventually leading to the piece shattering.
