Hey, I just started dreading my hair this afternoon with a friend. I'm backcombing. I've washed my hair with dr. bronners, added homemade accelerator after sectioning it and started on the first one, added a little aloe(99%) gel to keep the frizz under control.

Right now it is quite light and fluffy - but I do have fine, thin hair.

My question is should it feel and look light and fluffy? Or should it be compact-ish?

    (yay first post)

When I did mine with backcombing a few years back, they did seem light and poofy for the first little bit, once they actually continue knotting they will seem more heavy and compact-ish as you put it ;)

HTH, I can only offer my experience
