Im planning on making one tonight for the firs time and have a question. When your going to push the bottle into the water and inhale, do you actually inhale, or just let the smoke be forced into your lungs? or do you just try to relax your throat muscles or w/e and let it go down? Any other advice or things I should know? thanks.
well if you dont inhale its not exactly going to burrow its way into your lungs. just because theres a lot of smoke and it's being forced out of the chamber quickly doesnt mean it'll get you high while holding your breath. you still have to inhale.

you can do it either way. but the pressure from the contracting space is forcing the smoke out, and theres no need to assist it by putting your mouth up to it and literally sucking on it like a pipe. just put your face/mouth/nose near it, push down and inhale is all you NEED to do. of course, you'll get the most smoke in your hits if you put your mouth as close to the opening as possible.

much much more. you need to do like 10. at any rate, you have to be careful to balance how hard you push down and how much you suck. its easy to get water in your mouth. its not as complicated as you make it out to be, just push down and youll be inhaling it. the only reason you beath is because the air pressure is less than required to inflate lungs. so the muscles pull them apart, creating low pressure in your lungs, forcing air from ouside, in. however when you push down onto the bottle, it produces lots of pressure, and pushes it into your lungs. it will feel just like youre inhaling it but without the effort on your diaphragm. in fact, i dont think you CAN suck out of a gravity bong. all that would achieve would be to make the sides of the bottle collapse, if youre strong enough at sucking, or raise the water level. this is unneccessary on your lungs. so just push your head down with your mouth on the nozzle of the bottle, and stop before the water level gets to your mouth
actually if you do it right, you waste absolutely no smoke, and get higher than on any other smoking device.
Just put your face over the hole and inhale slowly and deeply. I consider it the bong equivalent to taking a shotgun through your nose, so just breath in as if you are taking a shotgun through your nose.
We turn a blunt around with the cherry inside the mouth, blow a shotgun to another person. Through the nose is the same way, except we cup our hands around the end of the blunt and just breath the smoke in through the nose instead of the mouth. It seems a lot smoother and doesn't hit the lungs as hard, but you still get as much smoke as a regular shotgun. I don't know if that's a good explanation, but it's hard to put into words.
