What is the likelihood of moving to Amsterdam as a junior in an American university, and being able to support myself? would i be able to study there? and is the job market flooded? i feel like an ignorant bastard for asking that, but i really don't know. also, would i need to learn dutch immediately?
i think i would rather pick my eye out with a toothpick, than work for that deusche bag haha. anyone else?

Don't learn dutch? How can you say that? If you want a job here, you have to speak dutch.. But if you're comming here as a student and you're only staying a few months you don't have to learn dutch, and university will take care of housing.. But it's really hard to get a job right now everywhere in the Netherlands.. If you really want to move here wait a year or so, when there're more jobs for everyone..
you could always get a job somewhere outside of amsterdam. i was offered a job in a coffeeshop in Leiden as long as i could count from one to ten in dutch and had basic dutch conversation. a friend of mine was working in schipol airport loading the luggage and that was a pretty hard job to get. plus he found it near to impossible to get an apartment. but then he got offered a better job in haarlem, and thats where he is now!
