I was always under the impression that darvocet was dangerous because of the high apap count in the pills. So why did they recall the medication completely instead of putting less apap in the pills?

Is it the propoxyphene itself that was dangerous or is the FDA too scared to admit that apap is more dangerous than propoxyphene?

they recalled it because they found that long term propoxyphene use can cause toxicity to the heart. I don't think it has anything to do with the aceteminophen because there are several other controlled medications on the market that contain aceteminophen that were not recalled.
