QUEENSDAY 2006- 4 months to go!!

Time to mount up people for Amsterdam's biggest street party. Also who's down for the 2nd annual hip forums meet the Friday before at the Dekuil. We had over 15 at our little hipforums meet last year. Excellent good time I tell ya. Tell me we can't get more than 15 this year!!! ​

All corners of the USA were represented last year from Cal to SD to Fla to Mass to NY to CT and elsewhere.

So where are all our hipforum UK hipsters at? Be great to meet you all this year.

Also need to know who's on board the queensday rock n boat tour with daytripper, need to let Joeri know soon. Times a ticking away!!

Hey Ho Mopperm1! Must be in the air as of late because I've got some severe jones for Amsterdam. 4 months don't seem to damn long either.

Mark me & the 'ol lady down for the Meet & the Queensday Cruise, and some partying outside of those events. This is gonna be some serious fun, once again. Gotta get that thing more on the "Rockin'" side this year. Got those discs from last year? We gonna get a coffeeshop crawl rollin' following De Kuil?

Yeah, where are those HIP Forums members from the Nederlands& the UK??!! Hope some of you can drag yourselves out for the De Kuil 420 Meet 2006. As always the first round of vapo bags is on me. Don't be late!

That's 4 so far!!.....Glad to see that South Dakota will once again be represented by you. Of course there was never a doubt that we would meet yearly. Nice to hear your bringing the wife this year. Of course the "ole lady" (Nancy loves being called that. lol) will once again be with me. I'm sure some of the regulars ( real hipsters ) will be on board....mikey from FLA, ispica from Mass and maybe koopa.....how about it koopa?

Where's the hip brits at this time?

 

As for myself, not sure yet, plenty of time to sort it out though.
I really can't say at the moment, it's all up in the air still.

 

yeah i'm still VERY IFFY on it.....had some unfortunate financial worries this year and also have no people that can join me. That leaves me with less money than expected and more expensive room accomodations than expected. I really don't want to hostel it and I can't afford an apartment or hotel by myself. I posted the situation on this message board a couple of months ago and asked if any of the QD CREW had an extra bed I could pay my share for but haven't had a single response........

Check out the Hotel Abba down on Overtoom. It's 35-40euro per night, single, shared bathroom, with breakfast. Ask for Room #8 with the terrace. Tram stop out front. Definitely beats a hostel imo. That's where I stayed the last two solo visits. Less than 300euro for the week.

I hear ya on the RLD spot and being used to something. That said, Amsterdam in a different bed is better than no Amsterdam at all. Sincerely hope you can work things out to swing it. Less than 4 months and counting...

You've convinced me into doing another round of research and seeing if I can come up with anything suitable. My arm didn't even have to be twisted that much!!!!!

P.S. if anybody is still willing to go in on a room let me know ASAP. It would be greatly appreciated.... For example, u and your friends need a 3 bedroom and I chip in so we get a 4 bed.

You might be interested in checking out www.couchsurfing.com . It's basically a place where you can put up your profile and if you have an extra room or couch, you can exchange info and possibly host someone for a day or two travelling from another country and you could possibly find someone to host you on a trip also.

Ain't seen the psychedelic goodness that are the new t-shirts, but I bet they look righteous as the day is loooooooong. If you've got a pic, please post it.

BTW, what's up with the Queensday Cruise? Are we solid with the Daytripper for another fun-filled 3-hour tour?

I haven't forgotten that you have been nice to me, receptive to my posts, and somewhat appreciative of them for 6 months. Actually one of my first posts on this board received the warmest response from you (coffeeshop recommendations....i believe you said you were taking notes As far as I know, it was only that one recent thread that got you in a row and I didn't take it to heart.......so the true question would be would you like to share a room with me LOL

As a resident of Connecticut I would like too state that we kicked him out years ago and he fled to Texas....thank god. Remember all you brits and dutch that the average american traveler to Europe are not rednecks or religious zealots that voted him in.....so don't be hate'in us, just party with us come queensday!!!!

The National Transportation Safety Board recently divulged they had covertly funded a project with U.S. auto makers for the past five years, whereby the auto makers were installing black box
voice recorders in four-wheel drive pickup trucks and SUV's in an effort to determine, in fatal accidents, the circumstances in the last moments before the crash.

They were not surprised to find in 43 of the 50 states the recorded last words of drivers in 61.2 percent of fatal crashes were, "Oh, Shit!"
But the states of Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Alabama,Georgia and Kentucky were different, where 89.3 percent of the final words were, "Hold my beer, I'm gonna try somethin."

Thanks, I hang out over at channels. I am American, but Dutch at heart. I have partied with ictricity on Konigsindag in the past, so I have a little idea of what to expect. I know a little about Amsterdam and the Netherlands.
