how do you increase the chances of getting them- i heard pruning and other stressfull stuff does work? im wondering cuz i heard sumwhere that hermaphrodites make feminine seeds(cool) and if your plant does go hermie- will it be all of it or just a few branches and areas thanx
nah dude you don't want hermies. Hermies are caused by stress, some strains are more susceptible depending on genetics. Usually fucking with lighting is a "good" way to get hermies. Problem with using all female seeds from hermies is you don't want hermie genetics, soma's method is i think just letting it flower for longer than normal til it starts to produce them little bananas (nay nays if you're down with it) then you collect those in a bag and like rub em all over some lower branches to get a bunch of fully seeded buds. You only want to do this type of shit with good genetics though, or you chance creating a lot of hermie seeds with shit hermie predisposition due to genetics.
ive heard mainly that u only get them from stressfull females-well whatabout males, can they bcome hermies? thanx
Do you mean a male? THe banana thing made me think of the male flower. I've never seen a banana thing on a female plant. *confused*
Ive never seen it happen and I've raised thousands of plants. It's not uncommon for an unpollinated female plant to produce a male flower here and there, often deep in a bud. It's a survival technique. Technically a pot plant that carries both male and female parts are hermaphrodites, but if you're talking a couple of seeds from a plant that yields a pound of buds I wouldn't consider it a true herm. My friend Tony calls seeds from a herm. "poison pills".
