    Good morning,

guess what you have to expect if you attend a public viewing here in Germany. The closest answer from a non european inhabitant is rewarded with a virtual chocolate cookie.

    Regards

    Hello,

I meant to give half a cookie to every Glen ;). Well, if you attend a public viewing in this lovely country -they really use the English term, not a translation- you might be a little bit disappointed, because usually there are no cadavers involved. Since the last world football championship we use this term for events where football games are shown on large public screens and people crowded in front of the screen watching the German team disqualifying ;). The football championship in 2006 was also the first time since 60 years that one could see flags in Germany. Usually you only see them at governmental buildings on national holidays.

    Regards
    Gyro

In England we're drowning in flags prior to the World Cup. Flag manufacturing must be the last growth industry :)

Watch out for the blow to the collective self-esteem when we fail to make the second round;)

    Hello,

I live in a town with a population of about 100k. This morning I walked around for two hours and saw seven or eight flags. Four of them were fixated at the van of a craftsman ;).

    Regards
    Gyro

Can Germans even have blood in their bodies?

It seems like the government doesn't allow anything.

    Hello,

oh, it's not forbidden. We just don't do it. I was in Berlin over the last week. I can't come up with statistics, but I have the feeling that I had seen more Italian or Turkish flags there than German ones.

    Regards
    Gyro
