I'm re-establishing my music collection right now... downloading like crazy.

Any particularly good bands that you would like to recommend? (please do skip the basics such as Led, Floyd, and so on)

Those are good songs, but I've been listening to the classic rock station on the radio at work everyday... so hearing them again would make me jump off a building.

Would you, dear lady, dearly enlighten me on what these bands/artists sound like:

The Many Different Bobs, Bonnie Sommerville, Amon Amarth, Gary Jules, The Go Betweens, Honydrippers, Imperative Reaction, Mazzy Star, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Mindless Self Indulgence, Regina Spektor, She Wants Revenge, and Snow Patrol.

I have never heard of any of them. (skip all the rap and metal if there is any in that list)... I listen to too much metal as it is, but I'm not in the mood for it in the last couple of months... and rap... well... no.

the many different bobs, was just me not typying them all down, marley & dylan and such..
Bonnie Sommerville is kinda guitary/folksy ..from the garden state soundtrack :)
Amon Amarth is metal..Gary Jules did madworld (the donnie darko/that commerical song)..The Go Betweens are kinda like think radiohead/smashing pumpkins/cranberries/that type music :)
Honydrippers are a classic rock band, they did a version of the sea of love..Imperative Reaction are technoy, i found them off myspace, same with mindless self indulgence, and kinda she wants revenge ... not really technoy but industrial maybe...Mazzy Star is pretty sweet, the lyrics in my sig are from one of their songs..softer music...Regina Spektor and snow patrol fall into the softer music category too..sort of indie.. and the Mighty Mighty Bosstones are a band from the late 90s.. ska like..i love em :D

Thank you kindly, dear (and also way too pretty) lady.

I shalt download samples of them all... and will tell you my great thoughts of the music tomorrow...for my internet is very slow (wireless broadband), and it will take me some time to download the good 1000 songs I got queued up :D

EVERYONE should listen to Yo La Tengo since they are one of the best bands in the world.

Pavel, you should check out Knife in the Water... I'm not sure what it is about them but I worship them, they are kind of hard to find though.

Mazzy Star is wonderful, as is TV on the Radio

I love Yo La Tengo, together with TV on the Radio.

I don't like checking bands out on Myspace, I don't really like myspace, it takes lots of willpower for me to sign-in and check my messages there for some reason.
