The prom at my school is coming up soon. I bought a dress, but I don't think I'm going afterall. I was wondering if any of you all went or have any entertaining stories about the night of prom...

hmm, well I bought my promdress the summer before my senior year started. then when april came around (time for prom) my dress was almost too small in the bust area of the dress b/c my chest grew a whole cup size in just 7 months...My boyfriend at the time went to a different school than I. I went to my prom alone b/c he had a band competition to go to(not school band but his band that he played bass in, they ended up winning 1st place). I danced one time at my prom and that was with my best friend Mike at the time. The next weekend I went with my boyfriend to his prom and that was pretty cool. We had a wonderful time. I found it amusing that his school prom was located at "old macdonalds farm" Thankfully it wasn't really a farm, they had golf carts that drove you from your car to the door, b/c the ground was all muddy from the rain the night before. All in all his prom was pretty freakin great. My prom was alright, most my friends were shocked to see me in a dress, their jaws actually dropped which was pretty amusing.

edit: oh and looking through the pictures we took the night of his prom, it was funny b/c when he came to pick me up and my step mom took pictures, him and I were all formal just standing next to eachother not touching or anything (b/c my dad was pretty scary back then and so we felt that we had to be proper in front of him) but when we went to his house and his mom took pictures him and i were hugging and his arms were wrapped around me and we just had silly pictures,( we were more relaxed) so the difference of my house and his house was pretty funny; well at least i thought so...

I skipped my prom, even though I was asked out by the hottest girl in the school. I just don't believe in paying $100 for a party where people pretend to be rich by wearing expensive clothing and riding in limo's. Stupid tradition. How is it any more fun than having a party in the woods, with guitars instead of fancy DJ's and torn jeans instead of dresses and tux's?

It was the first time in the history of our school dating back to 1948 that the senior class did not have a prom. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement..:(

The reason was Martin Luther King was assassinated less than two months before. Sections of 14th street in Washington D.C [about 12 miles from our school] were still in flames and the school board was concerned about fighting and black students rioting.[they had threatened to do so]

Please reconsider and attend your prom. It's a once in a lifetime experience that you have earned. I would give anything to be in your shoes now.

I made my prom dress.. it's not completely finished... but it's promising to be gorgeous. I'm very excited. It's a corset type with a large princess skirt. :)

Why did you decide not to go to your prom after you bought a dress? Have you ever been? I don't know about your school, but I always have a blast at mine and I totally recommend that you go . Peace out. :)

I didn't attend my prom, and though I feel bad about that, at the time I don't think I had much of a choice. I did not have the money for all that extravagance, and women have never been interested in me. :(

The reason I don't think I'm going to go is because the guy I really wanted to go with is against the whole idea of prom, so he won't go. So I asked my other friend and his girlfriend won't let him go with me...Oh well. I don't have many guy friends and I'm shy when it comes to stuff like that, hopefully I'll find something else exciting to do that night.

i spent my "prom" on a beach-cove overlooking the bay, drinking beers in celebration of my buddy's 21st.

I never went to my own. I was brought by a senior in high school my freshman year. My sophmore year, my best girlfriend brought me. We were all tripped out and drunk and had great lesbian sex!

I finished my junior year in one semester, was about 1/2 way through my senior year semester and i dropped out. I don't feel bad about it at all! It's just prom. I hated the way life looked inside high school. As if prom king and queen were examples of what we should all be. 9 times out of 10 those people don't know what to do in real life. Prom queen means nothing on your first job application!
