Problem with dad.

Ok, I've been smoking pot for a while now and I though my parents were pretty chill about it, recentley though my father said that if he finds any drugs in the house he will call the police. He is an ex-cop too. I don't know if he is bluffing or not but I think he is. I have about a quarter in my room right now pretty well stashed. What do you guys think I should do?

really, what exactly are the police going to do? you're 14. all they will do is leave you to your parents custody.

remind your dad that some kid smoking pot is not worth the police officers' time. they could be out solving murders or busting meth labs.

I live in my dad's house with my mom, we don't have a shed and I'm pretty damn sure he won't find it unless he really looks.

dude you're 14 years old....maybe you should hang low for a bit until it blows over. not to put a proper age on smoking, but at 14 smoking shouldn't be a serious part of your life. go outside and run around or something.

Lots of parents use that police threat, hardly any follow through with it. With your father being an excop he might be one of the ones that actually calls, but I doubt it. Since you're 14 if he got the cops involved it would screw you over, but it would also make a lot more work for your parents, including the possibility of them being seen in a negative light. I'm sure your dad knows this, but I'm sure he also knows first hand how much fear cops or even just the threat of cops can instill in people, especially young people that haven't had a brush with the law yet.

BUT, since he's expressed his opinion and what your consequence will be, don't be stupid. Hide your weed good, and don't smoke when he's home. Or better yet, don't keep pot in his house or smoke in his house. The more you want to continue smoking, the more precautions you'll take. And if you're naive enough to get caught, well, serves ya right.

 

It's his house, and what he says goes. I'm sorry to sound like a narc. I absolutly think you should continue to smoke, go for it, but go elsewhere. If you want to hold your own personal stash then try to find a place for it outside the house. Since he knows the smell of marijuana it would be tough for you to smoke in the house anyways.

He is justfied in not wanting you to smoke being that you're 14 years old. I'm sure he has run into his fair share of fuck up drug addicts, and he is worried if you're experiementing at 14 you might fall into the wrong things.

I'm not usually the preacher, but this is not a case where you can blatantly walk around saing "fuck the man!"

Lay low for a few years and prove to him that you can do well in school, not get into any seriosue trouble, and that it doesn't effect your daily life negativly. Eventually after you gain his trust you can reveal that you have been smoking that whole time. I know it's tediouse, but it works.

 

I really agree with jimaug87. Be cautious, or, better yet, just stop for awhile. At 14, you honestly have enough drama in your life without enciting your dad's wrath. Don't get angry at him. Think about his position. He is threatening you because he loves you, and doesn't want you to get hurt. It's a backass way to go about showing you he cares, but we all do it in one way or another. Understand that he isn't trying to cramp your style and make your life no fun, he just knows that there is a HELL of alot more to life then smoking, and doesn't want you to get caught up in it. He probably sees 14 as being way too young.

 

I never disrespected my parents in their house. Keep your shit outdoors if your folks don't want/allow illegals in their home. It is their home and their rules.
Now when you turn 18 sky's the limit!

 

Keep on smokin. I honestly dont know if he will call the cops. He will prlly pwn yo ass if he finds it but I really doubt he'll call the cops on you. Plus your 14 so theres not much they can do anyways.
