    Hey all

Wondering if anyone knows if Fentanyl shows up on standard drug test that probation uses. I know its a fully synthetic opiate unlike morphine or herion ect, or semi-synthetic, so it doesn't contain or metabolize into any of the naturally occurring alkaloids from opium

Everything I've read on the internet says it does not show up on a standard test, I read this on at least 5 different sites, but I don't knowwhy if any of these people have been on probation and have experience with it

I would prefer responses from people who have experience on probation, but any input is welcome, just please let me know how you come to your conclusion, thanks

well ive been on parole but never been on any recreational opiates.

although i have some knowledge in chemistry and i am currently studying pharmacology and its seems to me that it would not show up on standard opiate tests due to its structural separation from classical opiates such as morphine and heroin; see below.

however, fentanyl is nothing new, it was first synthesized in 1960. so if it has been a popular drug of abuse for a length of time they may have incorporated into their reagent test kits a reactant that will show a positive reaction to fentanyls presence.

although provided this is not the case and the reagents are designed to give a reaction to morphine-like structures well IMO you should be fine.

its all a bit touch and go to be honest only someone in your area with experience with the test in question with fentanyl in their system could really give you a 100% answer as we do not know the active constituents of the reagent test kit..
