pretzel appreciation thread

pretzels are a delightful foodstuff, a great snack or even good as part of a meal.

personally, i like soft hot pretzels. auntie anne's is good when i'm at the mall, especially the garlic pretzel they make, dipped in marinara sauce


i like pretty much any fresh soft pretzels, though.....with mustard or with cheese sauce they can't be beat for a tasty snack.

and while they're inferior to their bready cousins, those little crunchy snack pretzels are pretty good, too. way better than most potato chips.

these, of course, are perfect for dipping in chocolate, and in fact white chocolate covered pretzels are one of the only ways i like white chocolate.

then theres a classic, utz's pretzel sticks. large, crunchy snack pretzels but straight instead of twisty. very tasty, too




so, since you're here i'm assuming you also love pretzels in some capacity or another. which varieties do you like, and how do you like them?

 

my landlady is a baker, and she makes the BEST pretzels ever when we drink beer and play darts.......... she throws a slice of cheese on top and pops em n the oven and OMG they are so great

I haven't had pretzels in ages. I always think of the Simpsons. I like them soft and hot. I would love chocolate covered pretzels since I'm more sweet than savory.

The problem with pocky is that you might as well just melt your own chocolate and DIY. It ain't worth it.

 

I like soft pretzels, I dip them in cream cheese... Pretzels all around are tasty..

 

i've never had a bad pretzel.

 

I am shocked...absolutely shocked. Another food we can agree on! When I was a senior in high school, we went to the regional competition for our one act play and our principal took us to the Spaghetti Warehouse for dinner the first night we were there and some of us wanted to go be mall rats (the restaurant was in the mall, which was right across the street from our hotel), and I opted out of dinner for a hot pretzel dipped in cheese and shopping. Score.

hahn airport in frankfurt, oMG I got one at this little stand. supposed to be hot and soft and it was the closest thing to cardboard I ever took a bite of.... NEVER AGAIN hahahaha

I love pretzels because of the obscene amount of mustard they allow me to eat without being suspect to addiction.

 

i got a big old tub of utz's pretzel sticks at sams club just now. also two kinds of queso dip. its gonna be a good night once i go get beer
