Why cant state governments have big combat weaponry such as at least that of the national guard with it's own state guard to protect it's ppl from the federal government?

A militia is supposed to be for the state in cases against the federal governement, against the state in cases for the ppl of the state, or against the state in cases for the federal government? Which side are militias supposed to be on anyway

The way I see it is we need to come together to create a nation of checks and balances. And it starts when state governments can legally obtain the means to declare and go to war with the federal goverment to become the new nation's capitol if and when the federal government steps out of line.

Another thing... If your state hands down some federal laws in conflict with your interests/person...would you bring a fight of some significate kind to your state government for that sh*t or to the federal government stationed there in your state or to the federal government headquarters stationed in this nation's capital?

 

Today's Republican Party is not "kind of" fascist and evil. It's pure fascist evil.

If you granted states the right to defy the federal government, I absolutely positively guaratee you that there would be states banning gays, blacks, Muslims, atheists, and liberals. And it would likely happen in a matter of hours or days.

 

The main reason the local reserves and guards don't have heavy weapons is that even though they belong to the state, they are often called up to duty by the fed and they KNOW if they give them the weapons to protect themselves against federal tyranny, THEY WILL.

So the DoD controls all the heavy weapons (i.e. you can have the airplanes, we're holding onto the bombs).

That sounds like the Harvard Business School estimate... IIRC that was the total cost if we'd pulled out about two years ago. I remember for sure that it assumed an immediate withdrawal, and I think it's been a few years since the study. Wasn't that done sometime around the time of the 2004 election?

Current estimates, I think, are in the 2-3 trillion range, considering that we have about a million combat vets to provide with health care for the next 60+ years. I think we'll be getting off lucky if it's only $3,000,000,000,000.

I could look it up, but I'm at work and on break and have three minutes to go. Regardless of the numbers, the Republican raid on the treasury has been extreme and will remain so unless people wake up and vote Democrat in great numbers next time around.

 

if you think voting for one party or the other is going to save our messed up nation, please think again. in congress, our representatives vote across party lines around half the time anyway. it's much better to find a good candidate and take it from there and yes i know the pickings are slim.
Sign the federal gov't has limited rights according to the Constitution and what this means in part is that if california wants medical mj then they have it. the feds can't abridge the rights of a state. the raids are completely illegal and against the constitution.
checks and balances are already in the constitution BUT the rhetoric/action out of washington is that it's in need of revision. of course this has been going on for a few years now. if you want to fix the system the real solution, since it's all about money, is to take away the taxes on the federal level. it's strictly a state's right anyway. then severely reduce the size of the federal government. if it was reduced to the minimum size necessary we'd all have a lot more freedom and i can't believe that there would be laws written to discriminate against blacks, muslims or any other ethnic group. as a people we've grown a lot in the last 40 years and i just don't see us going backwards.

Listen , you are partially correct about the money thing , but this is not the real reason behind this corruption. There has been a plan in the works for a mighty long time. Many Presidents into this thing and they are but puppets in the scheme of things. This is a far more serious thing that you or most dare to realize. I don't know Fed Up American as I am new here but I think he knows quite a bit more about the truth and is merely so disgusted with our countries ignorance and unwillingness to see it that he has begun dealing with it in ways that only serve to swallow him. I can relate on that level but realize too that time is too short to waste it fucking off with jokes and belittling the seriousness of the situation. I know he knows it too.

For any of you who do find the words of this stranger holding some truths I will tell you where I am at this point. I have been researching the issues for about a year, not long, too long, and long enough. lol The facts are out there for everyone to get and quite easily now with the internet. However, there is info out there to throw you off the track. If Money is what you find is the controlling factor I can assure you , you are indeed losing the scent. Our monetary system is run by a private corporation. It is completely unrelated to governments. The federal Reseve is a group of bankers. Printing money from paper and charging us interest to do it. It is the ultimate con and it is so powerful that it literally has America on the strings of a marionette. Parading us like puppets. The plan is for the fed Reserve bankers to flood the economy with money and in fact made it possible for the little people to obtain mortgages where they were never able to qualify before. This created for the small banks a debt of high proportions. Now they pulled back on the reigns during a time when we are at war and already financially strained. They have tightened the abilities to finance and yet the housing market is ready to sell. Jobs are being lost and mortgages can not be paod and forcing people into foreclosure and on the street. They make it look good by feeding the economy a bit and pull it right back. The smaller banks have already begun to disappear and soon , just like it has happened in the European Union will be very few strong enough to last. The bankers then buy up all the property for cheap and basically own the financial world. We have no gold in our treasury as a nation. It went long ago to the bankers to hold in security of our national debt. Its gone.. And how much is the paper you call money in your pocket worth. Have a look at what it says . It used to say redeemable in gold or silver or some shit .. Look for those words now. That is the POint A of the multi faceted big picture.

Point B. Have you watched the movie zeitgeist? I will be back in a day or two and in that tiome I would encourage you to look into the facts documented and absolutely proven in that movie. Then I think you may be ready for Point B in this saga. Maybe even C.. Trust me though.. you will need to take time with each point before the next. It will indeed catcch you off guard and unable to deal with it should you rush the knowledge. Its taken me two years to learn what I know and it seems too fast at that speed. OK?

Niagra it seems to me that it is about money because in this world, most of it, money is power. That's what the folks at the top want. All this has been known for decades but our greed and ignorance have kept us docile. Buckminster Fuller warned about corporations marching across the globe and taking over in the 50s and few heard him. President Wilson stated in his end of term speech that he feared he had given his nation away or something to that effect. He was correct. Wilson was the president to sign the law setting up the Federal Reserve. The Federal Reserve inflated the money supply in the 20s which caused the crash of '29 which didn't subside until WW2. This is where the problems lie for us all but that's not to say that there aren't other threats to our liberty. The international bankers are the ones looking to put us in chains in the form of an RF chip that will give us access to money and contain our id. David Rockefeller has stated that at this time with a chipped population they can do whatever they want and if we do something they don't like they simply turn off our chip. Now who's to say that this will actually come about? None of us know for certain. I don't believe that anyone can predict the future. It's a lot more likely to happen if, as a whole, we continue along our ignorant and greedy path as it plays right into their hands. If you're for big government to take care of it's citizens cradle to grave, you're also playing into their hands.

Actual stuff flat out "lost and stolen" is "only" in the billions. But that's still planeloads of skids of hundred dollar bills.

I think he's referring to the fact that the federal government doesn't track costs in enough detail for an audit to be performed that meets today's industry standards.

As an analogy, it's like putting gas in your tank. You know you added either 7.7 gallons or 7.8 gallons, but you don't remember now because you lost the receipt. The full amount is not auditable, but that doesn't mean you didn't put it in your tank, or that it was all lost between the pump and the car.
