like you mean about a week and a half before your period?

I get almost the same symptoms a week and a half before as I do when I'm mensturating just, without blood

Known in medicine as mitterschmitz middle pain. Yep a lot of womyn get this. It is the membrane around the egg breaking and breaking through the ovary wall. OW!

yeah, i have mild pcos, so i probably have a thicker membrane around my ovaries than most women do. i've been doing a lot of work to heal my whacked out hormones, so it's a good thing that this is happening. still doesnt make the pain any fun, but at least i know my body's trying to work the way it's supposed to.

i dont know if it's really supposed to be called 'preovulatory syndrome', it just seemed fitting.

There's a big spike of estrogen that happens right before ovulation, so i suppose that would account for the moodiness and all that.

Not to be really graphic or anything (I've heard of other women with the same symptom, too) but right in the middle of the cycle I tend to get a tinge of pain after I have an orgasm. Something to do with your cervix extending.

Oh yes, definitely. I tend to get a headache, I have sharp pains in my side, and my breasts swell. Maybe the swelling breasts is more bait for the purpose of ovulating. lol

I also experience changes (this might be offensive to some) in lubrication "down there". I could go into detail, but I won't because I don't know if everyone wants to read about things like that! lol We used to discuss that type of thing at length on a pregnancy board I used to frequent, but this is different here! ;)

    Hugs.
