Sadly Football is more about being a business than a sport these days.
The financial investments made primarily from 'abroad' are made from a view of commercialisation, the selling of merchandise, corporate packages and media influence of 'docu-soap' type programmes has seen a change of focus from the 'working-man' to the promotional advertisement of 'related' products.
This being said, you want the best team? You need the best players.
Sadly 'home-grown' opportunities are few/far between.
Looking at the top teams (Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Spurs, United) there are not many who make the transition from Academy to First team, moreover they are used as products for the business plan of the 'Club' and its financial stability and development.
The only way that things will change is to go back to what was implemented 'a few years ago, that being that a match day squad can only have 'x' number of (non-English/UK) within it for a League match, but Money talks, and with the amount of money coming in for the English Premiership (advertised and promoted globally as the best league with the best players) the hierarchy within the game won't let that happen

How can Garath Southgate watch a game like that.England will never win a world cup under these circumstances. These foreign managers would be nothing without the money they are given, Busby,Nicholson,Cloth they made ordinary players into great players

I wouldn't go that far. They did better than I think anyone thought they would this world cup.

I agree there is young talent Man City have a few but most of the time they warm up the bench

That's a shame. Typically I root for England to do well in just about anything. I consider them to be cousins, after all.

  8. Croatia - England was my favorite match.
    Ah memories.

Croatia will get there again. I have no doubt.

  10. Nah. Not anytime soon.
    Maybe again in 20 years.

That seems to be the precedent.
Better than any other country with four million people in it.

My country can't even beat fucking Trinidad.

    Trinidad. And goddamn Tobago.

When a team like Chelsea buy a goalkeeper for over 70 mil to me it is ridiculous the owner as more money than sence

Abramavitch does what he likes,he got rid of a perfectly good goalkeeper. He also sacks managers every other season

  15. Oh they're in the same group as Juventus, right...
So that means it's Juventus and Young Boys today.
    Silly Swiss club.

And I kind of want Valencia to win, because I want Juventus to be number one in the group.

Also try to follow Champions League matches. I'm planning my first trip to Manchester in the near future. Luckily there are many stadium tours available today, I found info here https://worldstadia.com/old-trafford.html. I always wanted to visit the legendary Old Trafford Stadium, walk through the players’ tunnel towards the pitch and take Jose’s seat in the dugout.

I like watching Serie A. Though I don't have a tv anymore which makes it a bit difficult. I support AC Milan. I used to watch Serie A in the Nineties when it was on Channel 4. I love the ease and grace with which they pass it around, beautiful one-touch football. I know they tend to play defensively, as does the national side, but I really enjoy their style of play. I always put a fiver on Italy to win when the Euro's and World Cup are on. I was gutted they didn't qualify this year.

  18. Not Premier League, but sort of on topic xD
