Prayer Without Boundaries: Prayer for Peace

I have been recently passing around a notice to my friends about a large prayer for peace at Midnight of Christmas Eve. This prayer, like friendship, is without boundaries...and I'm asking all of you, whereever you are at this time, to take a small second out to pray for peace without boundaries....at Midnight On Christmas Eve.

What is prayer?

 

Sounds alright to me. I'm not really sold on the idea of prayer, mind if I meditate instead?

ps. what time zone are you in, is it going to be coordinated like that or do we all just do it at our own midnights?

 

Of course you can!

I'm in Eastern...but...umm...do it in your own time zone...it could be a wave of prayer ever hour...

PS- thumontico... prayer is however way you can use your heart to reach the Divine Truth.

 

My dearest friends... and so it seams that tomorrow is Dec. 1st...and I bring around this request for a universal prayer for peace at Midnight on Christmas Eve (going into Christmas Day).

"Then a priestess said, Speak to us of Prayer.

And he answered saying:
You pray in your distress and in your need; would that you might pray also in the fullness of your joy and in your days of abundance.

For what is prayer but the expansion of yourself into the living ether?
And if it is for your comfort to pour your darkness into space, it is also for your delight to pour forth the dawning of your heart.
And if you cannot but weep when your soul summons you to prayer, she sould spur you again and yet again, though weeping until you shall come laughing.
When you pray you rise to meet in the air those who are praying at that very hour, and whom save in prayer you may not meet.

I cannot teach you how to pray in words.
God listens not to your words save when He Himself utters them through your lips.
And I cannot teach you the prayer of the seas and the forests and the mountains.

count me in But we need a better response this year. Come on, people! This isn't hard, and it's worthwhile. A worldwide prayer circle of hipforumers, let our energies collide in the ether and synergize into greater things!

(by the way, Gibran is amazing, and that book is even more so. Life changing...)

It's here now, peace is the ground of all being.


Adi Da Traditional sacred society, large or small, has had a kind of hierarchical way of organizing itself. Something of that can be considered in context of the Way of Adidam. The general congregation in the hive is the kind of worker bee. In this zone it keeps going in and out of the hive and serving the hive in various ways. Then there's a core of others who are interior to the hive but are busy interfacing with those who go in and out. These 'insiders'are working with the bees coming in and out but are also serving something at the center. The center of course is where the Guru is, which has no function whatsoever, except to be there and Shine from the center.


So there is the inside and the oustide hierarchic supporting the center, which just is, and has no special function, other then Shine

We will develop A HIVE MIND OF HUMANITY. Join us if you so will, I play my small part such is the key, describe a group of individual organisms that together share a single unified mind, distributing thought and communicating with each other through telepathic means. This is somewhat analogous to how colonies (i.e. hives) of social insects such as ants, bees and termites can seem to behave as if they were a single collective organism.

It is all one consciousness experiencing it self through a mulitude of forms.

It is trapped in some of these forms...

aware that is an illussion, a grand thought, one of the many infinite universes, and planes...

and yet so caught in it, so much Eric-ness that has to be dealt with.


It's like one day, Eric (the subjective experiencer) was walking through the halls of his univeristy, there he passed by a woman making this same hand gesture. Eric knew immeditaley through the Being within him that it was a message from his guru, Neem Karoli Baba, the mirror that is helping him shine.

Thank you, everybody! I'll play my small part and serve you by remebering this eternal truth, telling it, and feeding you through my presence.

Question: What is the point of prayer? Does God need you to point out what needs to be done?

 

I see your point... surrender is probably always a better idea then prayer, but the one supreme consciousness grace is so that it allows interaction through prayer... all subjectives contribute to the unititive... prayer does something even though nothing is happening. So pray away, and be GAY! Supremely happy!

 

Not too Gay, especially in these bodies that God surrounds us in. Maybe the next form will be more ambidextrous in the love making realm.

 

I just like using the word gay for positive reasons, because it seeems my generation has taken it to me a negative term... anything boring, stupid or bad... hmmm I wonder why... perhaps because it is associated with an oppressed minority group.
