...months, even YEARS old because some nutcase who's more bored than me dug it up and bumped it.

I post in them all the damned time, unknowingly. Nothing like composing a well thought out response to something that will probably never be seen by the OP or anyone else who would care.

In three years, eight months, and six days someone is going to dig this discussion up and agree with you- but by then you won't care.

    This is my favorite..

A person here at HF posted a reply in a thread on 9-25-08. Then on 4-14-10 she came back and bumped it cause the link she posted in her original reply was broken. She then added a new link.

Now that's what I call keeping an eye on your posts!

I think most people on here at one time or another have replied to one of those threads. Then, if like me, felt rather silly. :D

Then there are the 'post and run' people. You answer with a well-thought argument. Later you realize it was just a spammer who posted only one time and disguised himself to sound like a member trying to start an intelligent debate only to mention a place where you're supposed to buy something.

I've been seeing alot of people here doling out advice on threads started by some one post person from years gone by.

I don't say anything because I know the replier feels like they're helping the OP.

Maybe they hope the OP will return one day and be appreciative.

I think in part its because you read in forum rules and from other members "use the search function before starting a new thread"

My first searches here were for people in my aria and I think i responded to a couple threads that were 2-3 years old as a consequence...

Wait, wait, wait. I have another good one.

There was a first post made by a new person here months ago. It was in an introduce yourself thread that was four years old.

That was really strange. But then others joined in as well when they saw it come up, lol.
Alot of people don't pay attention to the date.

I still wonder why that person dug so deep in history to find a thread to make a first post in.

maybe they were the actual person who made the thread ...under a previous name

so many weird people here I stopped wondering why people do things

Or he’ll simply bump the thread himself out of sheer boredom :D
